METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING TIRE
Provided is a method for manufacturing a tire using a steel cord which can be manufactured without reducing productivity and can prevent propagation of moisture inside. The method for manufacturing a tire includes a vulcanization step of vulcanizing a green tire provided with a belt having at least one belt layer, in which the belt layer includes a steel cord 10 formed by twisting a steel filament 2 together with a resin filament 1 having a softening point of 125 C. or lower, and the resin filament 1 includes at least an ionomer.
Method of manufacturing escalator handrail
A method of manufacturing an escalator handrail of the invention is characterized by including: a metallic steel-wire producing step of placing a center elemental wire and a plurality of strands so that the plurality of strands surrounds the center elemental wire, and applying tension to them so that each distance between the center elemental wire and each of the strands becomes the same, to thereby produce the metallic steel wire; a preheating step of heating the metallic steel wire to a temperature equal to or more than that of a thermoplastic resin in a molten state; a composite-material forming step of integrating the metallic steel wire heated with the thermoplastic resin in a molten state, and extruding them through a die finished into a cross-section shape of the escalator handrail to thereby form the composite material; and a cooling step of forcibly cooling the composite material.
Cable gummed in situ and containing a gumming composition that contains a corrosion inhibitor
A cord rubberized in situ (C). Internal layer of the cord (CT1) comprises N1 internal thread(s). External layer of the cord (CT3) comprises N3 external threads wound helically around the internal layer of the cord. Rubber composition (20) is positioned between the internal layer of the cord and the external layer of the cord, and comprises a compound of formula (I) or a salt of this compound: ##STR00001##
in which: each R1, R2 and R3 group represents, independently of one another, an alkylene, arylene, arylalkylene, alkylarylene or cycloalkylene group, each X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 group represents, independently of each other, COOH, CONHOH, SOOH, PO(OR)(R) or PO(OR)(OR) with R and R representing, independently of each other, hydrogen or an alkyl group, and X.sub.3 comprises at least one COOH, CONHOH, SOOH, PO(OR)(R) or PO(OR)(OR) group with R and R representing, independently of each other, hydrogen or an alkyl group.
Tire comprising cables for reinforcing the carcass having low perviousness, and textile threads associated with the carcass reinforcement
A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, composed of at least one layer of metal reinforcing elements, the said tire comprising a crown reinforcement, itself topped radially by a tread, the said tread being joined to two beads via two sidewalls. The metal reinforcing elements of at least one layer of the carcass reinforcement are cords exhibiting, in the permeability test, a flow rate of less than 20 cm.sup.3/min and at least one layer of the carcass reinforcement is provided, on at least one face, with textile threads exhibiting, in the permeability test, a flow rate of between 1 and 3 cm.sup.3/min.
Method for Producing a Tension Member, Tension Member, and Use Thereof
The invention relates to a method for filling in a tension member in particular for conveyor belts, in particular a tension member which is configured as a steel cable. The method is intended to allow the full penetration of the tension member structure. Here, the method contains at least the following method steps:introducing the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) of the strand (5) into the stranding head (1) of a stranding machine (10) andpartially or fully applying at least one coating agent to at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) of the strand (5) prior to the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5) or simultaneously with the twisting of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5) andtwisting the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) to form a strand (5), wherein at least 50% of the individual wires (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) have been provided with at least one coating agent, andmaking a cable from at least one strand (5).
Method and device for impregnating a rope with a liquid material
Methods for impregnating a liquid material into a rope are provided whereby a liquid material is provided in a tank which defines the liquid level in the tank. An impregnation unit containing a chamber at least partially immersed in the liquid material includes a vacuum-device operatively connected to the vacuum-outlet of the chamber so as to lower the pressure in the chamber below atmospheric pressure. The rope may therefore be passed through the liquid material in the tank and then inside and outside the chamber via the rope-inlet and rope-outlet of the chamber, while maintaining the pressure inside the chamber below the atmospheric pressure to thereby force the liquid material to fill at least part of the interstices between the fibers of the rope by penetrating between the fibers.
Method for producing a strand or cable
A method for producing a strand or cable, in which fibers and/or wires are twisted at a twisting point to form the strand or cable. The fibers and/or wires are coated with a liquefied matrix material before and/or at the twisting point and are embedded in the matrix material during twisting. The fibers and/or wires are immersed in the matrix material before and/or at the twisting point and the formed strand or the formed cable is cooled after the twisting in order for the matrix material to solidify, preferably by air or in a cooling liquid, for example water.
