The invention provides protein adhesives, and methods of making and using such adhesives. The protein adhesives contain a protein-bonding agent and plant protein composition, such as an isolated water-soluble protein fraction or ground plant meal obtained from plant biomass. The protein-bonding agent can be an anhydride compound, carboxylic acid compound, carboxylate salt compound, or combinations thereof. The protein adhesives are useful in bonding together lignocellulosic materials and other types of materials.

A cigarette according to an embodiment may include a cigarette rod including an aerosol-generating material; a filter rod located at one end of the cigarette rod and including a first segment and a second segment; a front end plug located at the other end of the cigarette rod; and an outer wrapper wrapping the cigarette rod, the filter rod and the front end plug, wherein the outer wrapper has a basis weight of 57 g/m.sup.2 to 63 g/m.sup.2 and a thickness of 64 m to 70 m to increase the strength of the cigarette.

Methods of making fiberized pulp from the treated pulp sheets, as well as products comprising the treated pulp sheets or fiberized pulp from the treated pulp sheets, are also provided.

More particularly, the nonwoven materials can include a carrier composition including a binder and a blocking agent. The carrier composition can repel a sanitizing agent, such as a quaternary ammonium compound, from the surface of the nonwoven material in order to facilitate the release of the sanitizing agent from the surface of the nonwoven material.
