RelA inhibitors for biofilm disruption
Pharmaceutical compositions comprising a RelA enzyme inhibitor and a bactericidal antibiotic, wherein said RelA enzyme inhibitor binds to the RelA enzyme in bacteria to reduce biofilm formation and to degrade biofilms that have been formed. The pharmaceutical compositions can be used to treat bacterial biofilm diseases.
Method to prepare Hirsutella sinensis polysaccharides possessing protective activities on fatty liver disease
The present invention provides a method to prepare polysaccharides from Hirsutella sinensis. The prepared polysaccharides can reduce liver size, weight and the number and size of liver lipid vacuoles, as well as serum triglycerides and serum aspartate aminotransferase levels in humans and animals. The prepared polysaccharides can therefore be used to prevent and treat fatty liver disease.

METHOD OF TREATING A PATIENT WITH A DISEASE CAUSED BY A PATHOGENIC MECHANISM ASSOCIATED WITH ACCUMLATION OF METHYLGLYOXAL
The present invention discloses a method comprising administering a monosaccharide and/or polysaccharide as an active ingredient, for decreasing the accumulation of di-carbonyl compounds in the human body. Said monosaccharide is a monomer of said polysaccharide, and the molecular weight of the polysaccharide ranges from 29 kDa to 36 kDa. The monosaccharide and/or polysaccharide can be used to prevent or treat nephritis or diseases associated with di-carbonyl compounds, or other diseases caused by carbonyl-stress, and can also be used to make the relevant drug.

Methods and compositions for preventing and treating a disease related to glycan dysregulation
Contemplated compositions and methods are directed to prevent and/or treat various autoimmune diseases that are typically associated with glycan dysregulation, and especially autoimmune demyelinating diseases. Further especially contemplated aspects include animal models and systems for screening compounds to treat and/or prevent such diseases.

MULTIPLE FOLATE FORMULATION AND USE THEREOF
A multiple folate composition comprising the following three different forms of folate: a folic acid (a salt or ester thereof); a folinic acid (a salt or ester thereof); and a 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolicacid (a salt or ester thereof) and other non-folate ingredients. The composition is useful as a nutritional supplement or medication in the treatment of a folate deficiency and sequella thereof and/or in conditions responsive to administration of a metabolically useful folate. The compositions are particularly of use in patients who have impaired or reduced ability to convert folic acid to its metabolically active forms and in the treatment of depression, particularly in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant.
