09725854 · 2017-08-08 · ·

A fastening system or apparatus for securing a rail to the underlying railroad tie includes a pad, two insulators attached to the pads and two shoulders attached to the ties. An interference fit is formed between the insulators and the shoulders to capture the pad between the shoulders. The insulators are pre-attached to the pad. The mating protrusions of the shoulders and pad allows for ease of insertion such that the pad assembly can be shipped together with the underlying tie.

Pad for a railway rail fastening assembly

Fastening Point, In Which a Rail Forming Part of a Track for Rail Vehicles is Mounted on a Foundation
20170321382 · 2017-11-09 ·

A fastening point for a rail on a foundation including a bedplate arranged on a support surface of the foundation. The bedplate includes a bearing surface formed on its underside associated with the foundation and also a through-opening, a spring element for exerting an elastic holding-down force on a rail foot and a clamping screw, which braces the spring element against the bedplate. The clamping screw is guided with its threaded shaft through the through-opening of the bedplate. The clamping screw acts with its screw head against the spring element and is screwed into a thread provided in a region of the through-opening of the bedplate. A free space is provided in a region underneath the bedplate in the extension of the through-opening of the bedplate, into which the threaded shaft of the clamping screw can be inserted.

A direct fixation fastener comprising: a top plate; a bottom plate made of metal structural channel providing two spaced-apart side walls, wherein the bottom plate has a first end and a second end and wherein each of the first and second ends terminate in a first flat edge section and a second flat edge section, respectively, without spaced-apart side walls; first and second angle bars, wherein the first angle bar is attached to the first flat edge section and the second angle bar is attached to the second flat edge section; and an elastomeric layer disposed between the top plate and the bottom plate, between the top plate and angle bars and between the angle bars and the spaced-apart side walls.

Boltless fastener assembly for heavy haul railway with axle load of 35-40 tons

A boltless fastener assembly for a heavy haul railway with an axle load of 35-40 tons includes a pre-embedded steel holder, an e-clip, an insulated gauge block and a rubber pad. A clamping leg-heel end of the e-clip is provided with an L-shaped retaining end. The pre-embedded steel holder is improved to adapt to the e-clip, and an opening is formed at a portion of the pre-embedded steel holder close to the clamping leg-heel end of the e-clip, so that the e-clip can be installed normally. During normal installation, the L-shaped retaining end of the e-clip does not contact the pre-embedded steel holder. When the rail undergoes large torsional deformation, the L-shaped retaining end on one side of a rail moves upward to contact an upper edge of the opening of the pre-embedded steel holder or engages with a second heel end.
