Method and track-building machine for renewing sleepers of a track formed from rails and the sleepers
11124923 · 2021-09-21 · ·

In a method for renewing sleepers of a track formed of rails and the sleepers, the placement of skids, which support a machine frame of a track-building machine on the sleepers, is preceded by the machine frame being intermediately supported on the sleepers. The two rails are then distanced from one another, while avoiding a breakage separation, in a track section that includes both the region of the skids and the intermediate support. After supporting the machine frame on the skids, the intermediate support is lifted off the sleepers and work is begun.

SLEEPER TRANSPORT VEHICLE

A sleeper transport vehicle has a loading area which includes a lower supporting loading plane and an upper supporting loading plane, wherein in each loading plane a guide is arranged in which pallets are guided in the longitudinal direction of the sleeper transport vehicle, wherein, at a front side, a transfer area is arranged into which the guides protrude in order to pass along during a working operation pallets with new sleepers in one loading plane to a further sleeper transport vehicle or loading/unloading vehicle arranged at the front side, and to receive pallets with old sleepers in the other loading plane. In this, it is provided that in each loading plane a pushing device for pushing the pallets along the guide is designed as at least one circulating chain protruding into the transfer area, and that coupling elements are arranged on the pallets for temporary coupling to the chain.

Tie (sleeper) handling and lifting device
10900179 · 2021-01-26 ·

A device for lifting and handling steel ties (sleepers) or similar shape ties by the use of one of their top surface holes. The device comprises a straight or angled shape working end to which, on one side, is affixed more or less angularly, an engagement member bearing a recessed area like a notch both inserting and tilting thus locking themselves into aforementioned tie hole so the whole working end can now perform a plurality of operations (lifting, pulling, pushing, rotating and flipping) on the tie being installed or replaced on a railway bed. The other side of the working end is coupled to a straight or angled elongated member, with or without a handle, for manual operations. Alternatively the said other side of working end can be affixed to a variety of coupling member for further integration into a machine for assisted operations.

ONE-PIECE BRIDGE TIE RESTRAINING CLIP
20200115862 · 2020-04-16 ·

Systems, devices, and methods are presented for securing a railroad tie atop a support. In one implementation, a unitary length of metal rod is made into a clip that includes a vertical leg, a horizontal leg, and a resilient hook-shaped portion having a hook point. The hook-shaped portion is made so that the clip is biased toward a seated position, with the hook point positioned beneath part of the support. During installation, the vertical leg is placed through a hole in the railroad tie, driven downward until the resilient hook-shaped portion collapses into a compressed position, and driven further until the hook point moves beyond a free edge of the support and expands into the seated position. The clip secures the railroad tie without any additional parts and without requiring a worker to labor beneath the support.
