Provided are methods for treating, ameliorating, reversing and/or preventing a Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in an individual in need thereof, comprising: administering to the individual in need thereof a therapeutic combination comprising: (a) a composition comprising or consisting of: vonoprazan or a vonoprazan fumarate, or a 5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl)-N-methylmethanamine monofumarate, or a 1-(5-(2-fluorophenyl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl)-N-methyl-methanamine fumarate), optionally TAKECAB; and (b) an antimicrobial or antibiotic drug or composition.

Antibacterial bismuth complexes

Provided herein are organobismuth (III) phosphinate complexes, which comprise a phosphinate group and an aromatic carbocyclyl or aromatic heterocyclyl group. The complexes find use as antibacterial agents, and accordingly also provided herein are products, devices, compositions and materials comprising the complexes, for example medical products such as wound dressings and bandages.

BISMUTH-THIOLS AS ANTISEPTICS FOR EPITHELIAL TISSUES, ACUTE AND CHRONIC WOUNDS, BACTERIAL BIOFILMS AND OTHER INDICATIONS
20190201371 · 2019-07-04 ·

Compositions and methods, including novel homogeneous microparticulate suspensions, are described for treating acute wounds, chronic wounds and/or a wound or epithelial tissue surface that contains bacterial biofilm, including unexpected synergy between bismuth-thiol (BT) compounds and certain antibiotics, to provide topical formulations including antiseptic formulations, for management and promotion of wound healing and in particular infected wounds. Previously unpredicted antibacterial properties and anti-biofilm properties of disclosed BT compounds and BT compound-plus-antibiotic combinations are also described, including preferential efficacies of certain such compositions for treating gram-positive bacterial infections, and distinct preferential efficacies of certain such compositions for treating gram-negative bacterial infections.
