COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING MYO-INOSITOL AND THEIR USE IN THE PREVENTION OF POST PARTUM HAEMORRHAGE (PPH)
The present invention relates generally to the field of compositions comprising myo- inositol for use in the prevention of post partum haemorrhage (PPH) and disorders and/or conditions linked thereto. The composition may be a nutritional composition, for example a maternal nutrition composition. The composition may be specifically designed to provide optimized nutrition to a woman desiring to get pregnant, to a pregnant woman or to a woman who gave birth.
METHOD OF SYNERGETIC MINIMIZATION OF NEGATIVE IMPACT CAUSED BY FLIGHTS ON HUMAN HEALTH
This invention is referred to the field of medicine, namely preventative treatment, and may be used as a means of synergetic minimization of negative impact of flights on human health (brain, stomach, lungs, blood vessels, heart etc.) with application of known substances and medicines with newly discovered pharmacological properties in new conditions. The ultimate technical solution of this invention would be synergetic minimization of negative impact of flying on human health without foot swelling, belching, jet-lag, tiredness and fatigue etc. The claimed technical result is achieved by the method of synergetic minimization of negative impact of air flights on human health, including consumption of substances that improve osmotic concentration of blood plasma, in the form of oral rehydration solution, split into two intakes as a minimum, first intake in the amount of at least 0.3 liters up to 1 liter before boarding and further during the flight from half an hour to 2 hours at least 0.3 liters to 1 liter and on as-needed basis.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS WITH A PROBIOTIC AND A N-3 FATTY ACID FOR THE PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF MASTITIS
The invention provide a mix or a nutritional compostion comprising a probiotic Lactobacillus Fermentum CECT-5716 and a n-3 fatty acid selected from the group consisting of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and 18:3 n-3 octadecatrienoic acid (alpha-linolenic acid); and optional a further nutrient or mineral selected from the group consisting of iron, manganese and magnesium, or combination of two of more thereof; for use in treating or preventing mastitis in a subject, preferably a pregnant or lactating woman.
BDELLOVIBRIO TREATMENT FOR AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS
Compositions and methods for treating or preventing the progression of neurodegenerative diseases are provided herein. Exemplary compositions include bacterial compositions having an effective amount of viable, non-pathogenic microbes, viable, non-pathogenic bacteria, wherein at least one of the bacteria is a predatory bacteria such as Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus. The disclosed bacterial compositions can be used to treat or prevent the progression of neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
METHODS AND PRODUCTS FOR REDUCING SIDE EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH USE OF IMMUNE AGONIST ANTIBODIES
The present disclosure relates to methods and products for reducing side effects associated with immunotherapy using immune agonist antibodies. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides a method of reducing one or more side effects associated with immunotherapy using an immune agonist antibody alone, or in combination with an immune checkpoint inhibitor, in a subject suffering from a cancer, the method comprising modifying the gut microbiota in the subject and thereby reducing the one or more side effects associated with the immunotherapy in the subject.
Bifidobacterium bacteria and composition including novel bifidobacterium bacteria
Provide are beneficial bacteria that can be beneficially applied across a wide range of age groups and a composition containing the same. Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum NITE BP-02568 and/or Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum NITE BP-02569; and Bifidobacterium longum subspecies longum, having utilization ability for 2′-fucosyllactose are also provided. More preferably, bacteria having utilization ability for carbohydrates arabinoxylan, arabinan, and pectic galactan; and a composition containing the bacteria are also provided. More preferably, a composition containing 2′-fucosyllactose are also provided. More preferably, a composition containing at least one carbohydrate selected from the group consisting of arabinoxylan, arabinan, pectic galactan, and oligosaccharides derived therefrom or containing at least a carbohydrate derived from a gramineous plant or a carbohydrate derived from a solanaceous plant are also provided.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATING MUSCULOSKELETAL DISEASES, TREATING INFLAMMATION, AND MANAGING SYMPTOMS OF MENOPAUSE
Described herein are methods and compositions for using microbial agents (probiotics) and agents that promote growth of certain microbes (prebiotics) for management (including prevention and treatment) of musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoporosis, osteopenia, Paget's disease, stunting, osteoarthritis, osteomyelitis, and delayed or non-union fractures. Also described herein are methods and compositions for using probiotics and prebiotics for management of inflammation, and symptoms of menopause.
Amino acid-sensing diguanylate cyclase and methods of use
Provided are SpdE polypeptides and variants and nucleic acids encoding the SpdE polypeptides and variants. Also provided are vectors including one or more nucleic acids encoding a SpdE polypeptide or variant and cells including a nucleic acid encoding the SpdE polypeptide or variant, as well as cells expressing a SpdE polypeptide or variant and compositions including such cells and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Finally, methods of detecting presence and/or amount of one or more amino acids in a sample are provided. The methods include contacting the sample with a SpdE protein, measuring diguanylate cyclase activity of the SpdE protein; and comparing the diguanylate cyclase activity of the SpdE protein to a control. The methods can utilize isolated SpdE protein or a cell expressing a SpdE protein.
Oral care product formulation
A three-part method of cleaning a user's teeth and/or gums is disclosed. First, a user applies a tonic of essential oils to the user's teeth and/or gums by either brushing, rubbing, rinsing and/or flossing with the tonic thereby destroying harmful bacteria. Second, the user brushes with a toothpaste having nano-hydroxyapatite being particles of 50 nanometers or smaller. The nano-hydroxyapatite is absorbed into the surface opening inside dentinal tubules of the teeth. Third, the user seeds their mouth with an oral probiotic having beneficial bacteria. The third step must come after both the first and second steps.
