A pedestrian protection system using a beacon signal includes a beacon device mounted on a vehicle to transmit a beacon signal, a beacon signal receiver configured to receive the beacon signal transmitted by the beacon device of the vehicle, bollard devices disposed adjacent to one side of a crosswalk toward a sidewalk where a person waits to cross a street at the crosswalk, a pedestrian display device, a lighting device configured to brighten the crosswalk or the sidewalk, a speaker configured to notify the pedestrian or the waiting pedestrian of the approaching of the vehicle, and a controller configured to identify the approaching of the vehicle based on the beacon signal received from the beacon signal receiver, to receive information about the pedestrian or waiting pedestrian from the bollard device, and to control operations of the pedestrian display device and the lighting device.

System for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog

A system for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog includes a road safety barrier arranged along the carriageway, at least one fog density detecting device arranged along the road safety barrier, and a plurality of light sources borne by the road safety barrier, distributed along the road safety barrier, and oriented for each to emit a light beam having a direction that is transversal to an extension axis of the road safety barrier so as to illuminate signage on the carriageway. A control unit that is connected to the light sources and to the fog density detecting device is configured to activate the light sources when the fog density detecting device detects a fog density value of above a threshold value.

Security barrier apparatus

The invention relates to a security barrier apparatus 10, 70, 100 comprising a support 12 having at least three upright posts 14, 16, 18, 72 thereon. Two of the posts 14, 18 being fixed to the support 12 and at least one post 16, 72 being translatably movable relative to the two fixed posts 14, 18. The two fixed posts 14, 18 being spaced apart from one another and comprise a first plane 19 therebetween. The movable post 16, 72 being mounted to a slide device 24 of the support 12 for providing said translatable movement. The slide device 24 to operate the apparatus 10, 70 between an open position and a closed position such that in the closed position the movable post 16, 72 is between the fixed posts 14, 18 for inhibiting the passage of a vehicle, and in the open position the movable post 16, 72 is out of alignment with the first plane 19 and adjacent to one of the fixed posts 14, 18 for allowing the passage of a vehicle therebetween.

A shallow mount safety bollard assembly includes a bottom plate having a front edge, an aft edge, and a longitudinal axis extending in a front-to-aft direction and a lateral axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a pair of side bars, having front ends and aft ends, attached to a top plate surface of the bottom plate and extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, a sleeve having a bottom end attached to the top plate surface between the pair of side bars, an internal bore, and a top opening, a bollard having a lower section located in the internal bore, and a latch moveable from a lock position fixedly securing the bollard to the sleeve and an unlock position allowing the bollard to be removed from the sleeve.

Shock absorbing retractable bollard systems

A retractable bollard system for installation in a support surface that includes pavement includes a shell that when installed in the support surface extends below an upper surface of the pavement. The bollard system includes a post to be telescopically coupled to the shell. The post is axially movable relative to the shell selectively to an upper area and a lower area. The post extends farther above the shell when the post is in the upper area than when the post is in the lower area. The bollard system further includes a shock absorber to encircle the shell. The shock absorber is made of a polymeric material.
