CRASH CUSHION
A crash cushion includes overlapping first and second rail sections coupled with a fastener. The first rail section is moveable relative to the second rail section from a pre-impact position to an impact position in response to an axial impact to the guardrail assembly. The first rail section includes an elongated slot aligned with the fastener and having a first length. A support post is releasably connected to the first rail section and is rotatable to a laid over position after the first rail section has moved a first travel distance, wherein the first length is greater than or equal to the first travel distance.
Friction-Increasing Element for Attachment to a Roadblock, and Roadblock Provided With at Least One Such Friction-Increasing Element
The present invention relates to a friction-increasing element for attachment to a roadblock, comprising a friction-increasing element body for attachment to the roadblock, and at least one tapered contact edge, which tapered contact edge is carried by the friction-increasing element body such that the tapered contact edge is facing away from the friction-increasing element body. The invention also relates to a roadblock provided with a least one of such friction-increasing element.

Deflector bracket and cable anchor for guardrail terminal
A cable anchor deflector bracket includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is coupled to a guardrail at a location adjacent to a cable anchor bracket, which is an attachment point where a cable couples to the guardrail. The second portion slopes outwardly away from the guardrail and is proximate to an end of the cable anchor bracket and the end of the cable anchor assembly.
End treatments and transitions for water-ballasted protection barrier arrays
An end treatment array for crash attenuation includes a transition barrier module formed of side walls, end walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, wherein the module walls together define an enclosed interior space. The end treatment array further includes a containment impact sled having an axially extending frame. The frame has a width sufficient to contain the transition barrier module within the frame when in an assembled configuration, and has an axial length which is at least one-half the length of the transition barrier module. The frame defines an interior volume, the purpose of which is to contain a substantial portion of the transition barrier module in the assembled configuration, and to contain debris caused by destruction of the plastic barrier modules in a vehicular impact. The containment impact sled is attached to the transition barrier module.
Terminal element of a traffic barrier device, transition system, and method for providing impact protection
A terminal element (100) of a traffic barrier device (1), having a longitudinal axis, comprising a guide element (10) and an impact element (20). The impact element (20) is pivotally mounted on the guide element (10) about a vertical axis (A) so as to be rotatable or pivotable about a vertical axis. The impact element has a connecting side, for connection to an adjacent traffic barrier device, and an impact side, for damping or repelling an impact. The vertical axis is arranged between the connecting side and the impact side.
Guard Rail System
A protective barrier includes a rigid upright member including a post, a fitting having a housing with a first outer surface and a first inner surface. The housing includes a first hole extending from the first outer surface to the first inner surface; a first end, a second end and an inner chamber defined by the inner surface of the housing and extending from the first end to the second end; the first end having a flange sized and shaped for attachment to an outer surface of the rigid upright; at least one support member disposed within the inner chamber and extending from the first end toward the second end of the housing, the support member including a second hole. The protective barrier also comprises a hollow rail including a third end sized and shaped for being received within the inner chamber, the hollow plastic rail including a third hole; and a fastener extending through the first hole, second hole and third hole such that the hollow plastic rail is secured to the fitting.

Mobile Barrier with a Sliding Reinforced Wall
A mobile barrier is shown having first and second platforms, at least one of the first and second platforms engaged with an axle and a set of wheels; a safety wall assembly, having a mechanism for translation of the safety wall from one side of the platforms to another, the safety wall further having telescoping first and second portions allowing the safety wall assembly to expand and retract in length along the longitudinal axis of the mobile barrier; a plurality of variable length braces connected to the platforms and the safety wall, which expand and retract as the safety wall moves from one side of the platforms to the other.
IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO ROAD SAFETY RAIL SYSTEMS AND PARTS AND FITTINGS THEREFOR
A road safety rail system comprising at least one continuous rail, or a plurality of sequentially connected system rails, forming a main body of a barrier, which are supported above ground by one or more ground engaging posts, wherein the system also comprises a terminal end section (TES) having an upstream end and a downstream end, the TES including: a stationary component comprising one or more standard terminal end (STE)-rails at the downstream end connected to at least one formed terminal end (FTE)-rail located at the upstream end of the TES, the STE rails being supported at a set horizontal axis height above ground level by a plurality of posts; wherein the at least one FTE-rail(s)-include(s) a twist from a primarily vertical orientation to a primarily horizontal orientation; Wherein the at least one FTE rail(s) bends down from a set horizontal axis height Y above ground level to a horizontal axis height being at, or near ground level; a moving energy absorbing component comprising an impact head including a base and upright projection, the base comprising an axial orifice extending from a downstream entry point to an upstream exit point, through which an upstream terminus of an FTE rail is passed before the FTE rail is directly or indirectly connected to a releasable connection point coupled to a ground anchor; wherein the impact head is connected via at least one beam to a post detacher element located downstream of said impact head a pre-determined distance therefrom.
