Mobile waterjet rail repair system
A method of operating an ultra-high pressure liquid jet system includes positioning, relative to a rail, a translatable frame having a liquid jet processing head fluidly connected to an ultra-high pressure liquid pump. The method also includes providing, to the liquid jet processing head, via the ultra-high pressure liquid pump, a pressurized fluid forming a liquid jet that contacts the rail such that the pressurized fluid is at least 20,000 PSI during a rail cutting operation or a re-profiling operation. Steps of the method include providing an abrasive feed system coupled to the liquid jet processing head to provide an abrasive to the liquid jet and translating the liquid jet processing head relative to the rail, thereby performing a processing operation on a linear length of the rail along a direction of translation of the rail.
SUCTION DEVICE FOR PARTICLES DURING MACHINING PROCESSING OF TRACK RAILS
A suction device includes a plurality of radial fans. Each respective radial fan has a suction opening for drawing in particles that are removed during processing, and an outlet opening for discharging the particles into a collection device. Each radial fan has a fan wheel driven in a rotationally movable manner about a rotation axis. The fan wheel has a circumferential face and an impact face. The impact face faces the suction opening for radially redirecting the particles that strike the impact face. The suction device further includes at least one collection channel circumferentially and partially surrounding the fan wheel of each respective radial fan. The circumferential faces of the fan wheels of adjacent radial fans delimit a roller gap. The collection channel opens in the roller gap.
MECHANICAL SAND REMOVAL
A mechanical sand remover removes sand from a railroad rail and includes an actuator and a pair of web wiper pads having a lateral dimension that corresponds to a lateral dimension of a rail web of the railroad rail. A caliper mechanism is mechanically coupled to the actuator and is operable thereby into a retraction state and an engagement state. The caliper mechanism includes a pair of caliper arms respectively coupled to the web wiper pads at an angle relative thereto.

Rail conditioning system
A rail conditioning system associated with a locomotive is provided. The locomotive operates on a rail. The rail conditioning system includes a fluid supply tank. The rail conditioning system also includes a first nozzle coupled to the locomotive. The first nozzle is adapted to direct a first beam of fluid received from the fluid supply tank towards a first portion of the rail. The rail conditioning system further includes a second nozzle coupled to the locomotive. The second nozzle is adapted to direct a second beam of fluid received from the fluid supply tank towards a second portion of the rail. The rail conditioning system includes a valve element provided in fluid communication with the first and second nozzles. The rail conditioning system further includes a control module in communication with the valve element.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING TORQUE DISTRIBUTION
A system and method herein relate to vehicle control by adjusting a torque distribution of the vehicle. The system includes a first motor configured to provide a torque to a first wheel, and a delivery system configured to controllably apply a traction control compound to a route on which the first wheel is configured to travel. The system also includes a controller circuit having one or more processors. The controller circuit is configured to control the delivery system to apply the traction control compound to the route based on a monitored temperature of the first motor.

Railway weed control vehicle
The present invention relates to a railway weed control vehicle. It is described to activate (110) at least one weed control unit to control weeds along and around a railway track. The railway track comprises rails and sleepers. The at least one electrode based weed control unit is mounted at at least one first position of the vehicle. Sensor data is acquired (120) by at least one sensor. The sensor data relates to at least one location along and around the railway track. The at least one sensor is mounted at at least one second position of the vehicle. With respect to a forward movement direction of the vehicle the at least one second position is in front of the at least one first position. The sensor data is provided (130) to a processing unit. The sensor data is analysed (140) by the processing unit to determine locations of rail infrastructure components in addition to the rails and sleepers. The processing unit modifies (150) activation of one or more electrode based weed control units of the at least one electrode based weed control unit comprising utilisation of at least one location of the determined locations of the rail infrastructure components.
