A connection structure for connecting a seabed anchor to a superstructure for electrical power engineering has a horizontally encircling, vertically extending wall, which bounds a spatial region inside the connection structure. A first connecting section is configured for connection to the superstructure. A second connecting section is configured for connection to the seabed anchor.

TRANSITION PIECE FOR A WIND TURBINE

Provided is a transition piece for a wind turbine, to connect a wind turbine to a foundation, wherein the transition piece includes a connection area to be connected to a foundation.

Tower for a wind turbine

A tower for a wind turbine may include an upper tower portion and a lower tower portion. The upper tower portion may include a tubular tower, and the lower tower portion may include a lattice tower. To improve ergonomics and work safety and make it possible to obtain a structural design with optimized forces, the lower tower portion may include a central tube positioned centrally within the lattice tower. Further, the central tube may have a smaller diameter, at least in certain portions, than at least part of the tubular tower of the upper tower portion. The tower may also include a transition piece between the upper tower portion and the lower tower portion. The transition piece may join the tubular tower of the upper tower portion and the central tube of the lower tower portion.

Cantilevered resilient strut connector

The present invention relates to a joint arrangement for joining first and second longitudinally aligned members, said joint arrangement comprising at least one strut arranged to project from at least one of said first and second longitudinally aligned members, said at least one strut comprising a proximal end attached to the member from which it projects and a remote (distal) end arranged to be displaced away from said member, said distal end arranged to abut a complementary stop in/on the other member when said second member penetrates said first member, wherein said at least one strut is a compression strut which acts to resist withdrawal of the second member via compression in the strut.

Methods and apparatus for servicing wind turbine components through a lower portion of a tower

A wind turbine tower (14) is supported on a transition piece (18) that connects the tower (14) to a foundation and that defines a space (28) beneath the lower end of the tower (14). Electronic components positioned within a removable module (24) in the lower portion of a wind turbine tower may be removed through a lower end of the tower for service or replacement.

Inspection of Grouting in Jacket Pin Piles on offshore wind turbines

A system for subsea inspection of grout in a subsea jacket such as jacket pin piles on offshore wind turbines comprises a subsea vehicle subsea which can be deployed in a cage style TMS which may comprise a radiographic assembly and a marinized digital detector array and betatron source which comprises an X-Ray source and an X-Ray detector plate. The subsea vehicle exits the cage style TMS and docks to the marinized digital detector array and betatron source, then is flown to a subsea structure to be inspected where the marinized digital detector array and betatron source is used to bombard the subsea structure to be inspected with x-rays, a portion of which are reflected and detecting, allowing an image to be generated of the structure to be inspected.

Inspection of Grouting between Monopile and Transition piece on offshore wind turbines

An inspection system may be deployed as part of a routine crew transfer diving (CTV) or service operation vessel (SOV) deployment to perform inspections for analyses which can be conducted while carrying out other inspection tasks. A marinized digital detector array and betatron source may be maneuvered proximate a first detector plate, which can be of a plurality of detector plates and a first exposure generated at the first detector plate which is then used to aid in generating one or more images comprising each such exposure. The images are then reconstructed to identify defects in the grout.

The present invention discloses a transition piece (10) for connecting a first component (20) having at least three columns (21) to a tower-shaped second component (30), wherein the transition piece (10) can be arranged between the first component (20) and the second component (30) and comprises a connection device for connecting the second component 30. The transition piece (10) is characterized in that it has at least three curved elements (11), the respective legs (13) of which are connectable at least indirectly to the first component (20). Each curved element (11) can be brought into direct contact with the second component (30) by means of convex end sections (14) arranged between the respective legs (13). In this way, the convex end sections (14) of the curved elements (11) form a receiving region (15) of the transition piece (11) and the second component (30) can be inserted into this receiving region.

In the assembly of the support structure of a wind turbine, N sets of a first tubular brace and a second tubular brace extend from a tower support. For each set, the second braces are connected at one or both of their end parts by a casted connection. The first brace or the tower structure has a casting cavity for accommodating an end of the corresponding second brace. In order to assemble the construction, the second brace is inserted into the cavity, after which the end of the first brace is lifted until the end of the second brace is inserted deeply enough into the respective cavity.
