Dual operational rig

A dual tower rig includes a hull supported by one or more legs and includes a cantilever assembly coupled to the hull. Dual towers are supported by a skidding system that is coupled to the cantilever assembly. The towers are configured to conduct independent operations and are movable relative to each other and to the hull by the skidding system and the cantilever assembly.

Offshore platform deck removal method
12012707 · 2024-06-18 · ·

A method for lifting a payload of an offshore platform is provided. The offshore platform comprises a support structure supporting the payload. The payload includes a main deck and a column directly connected to the support structure, the column supporting the main deck. The method includes coupling a plurality of tension rods to a lower lifting device, having a welding surface weldable to a welding portion of the column and an upper lifting device having a coupling interface such that the plurality of tension rods connect the lower lifting device and the upper lifting device. The plurality of extendable tension rods can extend along a rod direction between the lower lifting device and the upper lifting device to separate the payload from the support structure. At least some of the tension rods of the plurality of tension rods are pre-tensioned to exert a compressive action to the payload.

The present disclosure generally relates to movable offshore platforms for installing wind turbines, and methods of forming the same. The movable offshore platforms are offshore platforms which were previously used in hydrocarbon production, such as jack-up units. The movable offshore platforms may be decommissioned and retrofitted with equipment for installing wind turbines. The movable offshore platforms may be American-made or otherwise Jones Act compliant. Methods of forming the same are also included.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES, AND METHODS FOR REMOVING FIXED OFFSHORE PLATFORMS
20190106854 · 2019-04-11 ·

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for removing fixed offshore platforms using a semi-submersible marine vessel are described. The semi-submersible marine vessel may comprise a main body, a mooring system, a lifting system, and a gate disposed at the second end. The main body may have an extended shape sized to house a fixed offshore platform oriented in a prone position. The main body may have a first end opposing a second end and a first side opposing a second side, the first end and the second end having dimensions that exceed dimensions of a footprint of the fixed offshore platform, the first side and the second side having dimensions that exceed dimensions of the fixed offshore platform oriented in a prone position. The lifting system may have a plurality of strand jacks and plurality of strand jack cables.

Method and apparatus of hot tapping multiple coaxial or nested strings of underwater piping and/or tubing for overturned wells or platforms

A method and apparatus for tapping into a pressurized multiple strings of coaxially situated tubulars for wells and/or platforms which have overturned wherein the tapping occurs underwater via a diver or remotely operated vehicle. The assembly includes a tapping tool connectable to the tubular via a saddle connection and an adjustable tapping clamp with adjustable support/locking feet, compression plate with view ports, and angularly adjustable hot tapping system, along with a drill/saw system.

MULTI PURPOSE BOTTOM SUPPORTED MOBILE OFFSHORE SERVICE PLATFORM AND METHOD

A method for abandonment of a production platform includes moving a mobile offshore service platform (MOSP) to a position proximate the production platform. A hull of the MOSP is raised to a selected elevation above a top of the production platform. A cantilever structure having thereon a drilling unit and a crane is extended from a retracted position over the hull until the drilling unit is positioned over at least one well on the production platform. The well is plugged. The cantilever structure is then moved so that the crane is positioned to lift components from the production platform during disassembly of the production platform.

ARTICULATING DRILL METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING OPENINGS IN NESTED STRINGS OF UNDERWATER PIPING AND OR TUBING FOR OVERTURNED WELLS OR PLATFORMS

A method and apparatus for angularly drilling during a tapping procedure into a pressurized multiple strings of coaxially situated tubulars for wells and/or platforms which have overturned wherein the tapping occurs underwater via a diver or remotely operated vehicle.

JACKET LEG CUTTING TOOL

A cutting system is used for cutting a hollow cylindrical support beam which forms part of a support structure of a sea platform. The cutting system comprises a fixating device to fixate the cutting system in an operation position around an outer wall of the support beam, and a drilling device to drill a series of through holes in the outer wall and around the support beam. The drilling device is movable along a drill track and around the support beam by a drill driver.

Systems and methods for reusing an offshore platform

Example embodiments relate to apparatuses, systems, and methods for securing an offshore platform to a bottom of a body of water comprising a shear assembly and a sleeve assembly. The shear assembly is operable to secure to the offshore platform at a first end and having a first connector portion at a second end. The sleeve assembly comprises a sleeve body forming an interior opening, the interior opening operable to receive at least a pile. The sleeve assembly further comprises a second connector portion secured to the sleeve body, the second connector portion securable to and un-securable from the first connector portion of the shear assembly.
