METHOD OF DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING CONCRETE STRUCTURES BASED ON THE VERIFICATION OF CONCRETE FATIGUE STRENGTH BY TEST
Method of design and manufacturing concrete structures subjected to relevant cyclic loads along their service lives, as wind towers, and a fatigue testing machine. The method consists on the design of concrete structures conditioned by cyclic loads considering a fatigue strength value specified by the project as one of the main design parameters, which will be verified during the manufacturing phase as one of the control parameters of the quality assurance plan by performing fatigue strength test on concrete samples representative of the concrete structural elements produced on said manufacturing phase. The method allows to decouple the concrete fatigue strength from the compressive strength of the material, which is why includes a verification of the fatigue strength as a part of a quality assurance plan of production according to a new developed procedure.
SOIL TREATMENT
A method of treatment of foundation soil beneath a structure, comprising treating the foundation soil with an ionic treatment agent, and treating the foundation soil with a soil stabiliser to stabilise the foundation soil.
Production and application of fire resistant erosion control mat
A fire resistant ground erosion control mat assembly. The mat assembly includes an inner layer of fire resistant milled stone mineral wool material with an upper and a lower layer of supportive nets. Each of the upper and lower nets consist of fire resistant milled mineral foraminous nettings to enable passage of light and water therethrough as a ground positioned emplacement of the inner layer.
Passive grout seal
A passive annular grout seal assembly is disclosed for sealing an annular opening between a driven pile and a skirt pile sleeve for an offshore platform. The annular seals are located at the bottom of the pile sleeves near sea floor and automatically activated when piles are inserted and driven through the pile sleeves without any active operational procedure during offshore piling. The seal configuration fully utilizes the seal height, the grout column height and the density difference between grout and sea water to produce enhanced sealing capacity against the column of grout above.
Erosion control apparatus
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather or tidal conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
Tp-free monopile and method for forming the same
An offshore structure that includes a pile of a foundation and at least one offshore element mounted on the pile and forming a slip joint, wherein disposed between an inner surface of the offshore element and an outer surface of the pile is a coating, especially an anti-fouling coating, for increasing friction between the two surfaces and/or preventing corrosion of one or both of the surfaces and/or at least two spaced apart areas are provided with a substance, forming a seal between the outer surface and the inner surface, near an upper end of the pile and the off shore element and between a lower end of the off shore element and the pile.
DEVICE FOR RETAINING SOLIDS, METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING AND FOR SECURING SUCH A DEVICE, FILTRATION DEVICE AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING AND DEPLOYING SUCH A DEVICE
A device for retaining solids includes a meshing, a removable fastener, and a covering. The meshing is made of synthetic material. The removable fastener to secure the covering is made of vegetable fiber to at least one portion of the meshing. The covering is made of vegetable fiber to cover at least part of the meshing.
MATERIAL FOR PREVENTING ADHESION OF AQUATIC ORGANISMS
The present invention provides a material for preventing adhesion of an aquatic organism formed from a fluororesin and a fluorinated pitch.
Production and application of fire resistant eroision control mat
A fire resistant ground erosion control mat assembly. The mat assembly includes an inner layer of fire resistant milled stone mineral wool material with an upper and a lower layer of supportive nets. Each of the upper and lower nets consist of fire resistant milled mineral foraminous nettings to enable passage of light and water therethrough as a ground positioned emplacement of the inner layer.
Expanding metal used in forming support structures
Provided is a support structure and a method for manufacture thereof. The support structure, in one aspect, includes first and second expanded metal structural pillars positioned within the ground by a distance (d.sub.1), the first and second expanded metal structural pillars comprising a metal that has expanded in response to hydrolysis. In at least one other aspect, the support structure includes one or more beams spanning the first and second expanded metal structural pillars.
