Flooring Template For Doorways
A rigid flooring template and method of using the same seamlessly join two different floorings along a flooring joint line within a doorway. The flooring template is provided as a thin, rectangular manufacture having two rectangularly notched corners along one long edge. The template and the notches are dimensioned so that, when the template is inserted into a doorway, the notches simultaneously and securely engage with the opposing door stops. When so placed, the non-notched edge may engage with the opposing door jambs approximately halfway between their exposed surfaces, thus providing a physical referent for the flooring joint line. This referent may be used for painting, or to manually trim or cut flooring underneath it with a cutting tool, the painting or cutting action yielding a straight line because the template is securely engaged with the door frame via the door stops.
SYSTEM FOR PLACING OBJECTS ON A SURFACE AND METHOD THEREOF
A system for placing objects on a surface. The system may include a base, a robotic arm coupled, at an end thereof, to the base, an end effector coupled to the other end of the robotic arm. The end effector may be configured for releaseably coupling to an object to be placed on the surface. The system may further include one or more sensor units on a sensor frame. The one or more sensor units may be configured for sensing a two-dimensional profile data including at least two two-dimensional profiles together comprising at least three boundary portions of the object to be placed and at least three boundary portions of objects on the surface. At least two of the three boundary portions of the object to be placed may be from substantially non-parallel sides. At least two of the three boundary portions of the objects on the surface may be from substantially non-parallel sides. The system may further include a processor configured to determine at least three degrees of freedom of the object to be placed with respect to the sensor frame and six degrees of freedom of the sensor frame with respect to the objects on the surface in a three-dimensional space for determining a current pose of the object to be placed with respect to the objects on the surface based on the two-dimensional profile data. Further, the system may be configured to place the object based on differences between the current pose and a desired pose of the object to be placed determined from a model of objects on the surface in the three-dimensional space.
Method and apparatus for assisting in tiling
A device for positioning a tile, comprising: a beam reader for receiving a laser beam within a predetermined range of locations, and providing a height indication; a level for providing a tilt indication of a tilt of the device; a processor for receiving the height and tilt indications, and combining them for determining gradient and height of a part of the tile; a display component for displaying in at least two dimensions positioning information for the device, the positioning information relating to the gradient and height of the tile part, as obtained by combining the height and tilt indications, wherein the beam being received at a predetermined location within the range of locations, and the level indicating that the device is at a predetermined tilt, provides that the tile being positioned is at a required height, and wherein the device is adapted to be stably placed on the tile.
TOOL FOR TRANSFERRING POSITIONS OF MEASUREMENT REFERENCES
The invention relates to a tool for transferring positions of a measuring reference from a construction frame (not shown) to a surface of a tile or a number of adjacent tiles (31) for making cut-outs in said tile or tiles (31), said tool (1) comprising a frame-like structure (3) and a grid structure (6) having openings in a raster pattern or a grid pattern made up by laser beams, said grid structure or pattern (6) extending between elements of the frame-like structure (3). The tool is distinctive in that the tool (1) further comprises at least one leg arrangement (2) with an end portion (7), said end portion (7) having spacer element (7b) having a width equal to normal spacing between two adjacently mounted tiles (31) or between a mounted tile and a construction element, such that when measuring the position (34) for the cut-out to be transferred, when transferring the cut out positions to the tile (31) or tiles (31) to be mounted, said end portion (7b) is adapted to rest against a mounted tile (31) or an end construction element at the opposite side of the spacer element (7b).
TILE INSTALLATION BISCUIT SYSTEM
A tile installation biscuit system including a tile measuring component having a body including at least one perforation. The tile measuring component is configured to be laid on an existing surface to measure at least one angle. The at least one perforation is configured to be folded to match the at least one angle and a user then removes a removeable-portion of the body to provide a template to trace tile and cut the tile to match the at least one angle when over-laid on the tile.
FINISHING PROFILE AND FINISHING SET FOR A FLOOR COVERING, AND CUTTING TOOL FOR CUTTING SAID FINISHING PROFILE
A finishing profile for a floor covering, including at least a flange-shaped portion, which extends on opposite sides of an attachment portion situated on the underside, wherein the flange-shaped portion is formed in one piece from synthetics and is provided for being subdivided at the location of the attachment portion. The invention further also relates to a cutting tool for cutting up such finishing profile for a floor covering, wherein this cutting tool includes a body and includes at least one knife, wherein the position of the knife is adjustable.
Method and apparatus for cutting linear trenches in concrete
A portable apparatus and method for cutting linear trenches in a concrete ground surface includes two bars extending in parallel spaced relation along the concrete with an elongated track removably fastened and extending orthogonally thereto. A trolley supporting a motor-driven cutting wheel is movably engaged with the track. A depth adjuster alternately lowers and raises the cutting wheel to engage and disengage the concrete while the trolley follows contours of the concrete to cut a kerf of uniform depth. The track is selectively movable to spaced locations along the lengths of the two bars to cut a first plurality of parallel kerfs in a first direction. The apparatus is rotatable about a vertical axis to cut a second plurality of parallel kerfs oriented in a second direction at a predetermined angle, e.g., 90 degrees, to the first direction, to form a simulated tile pattern in the concrete.
Efficient installation electrical hardware system and method of use
An improved installation system for electrical hardware, such as power outlets, electrical switches, light fittings, ceiling fans and the like, whereby the cutting of their installation access holes in drywall panels is accomplished much faster than prior art methods and with a high degree of accuracy by the use of the hole cutting system, comprising the magnetic block assembly, corresponding magnetic template assembly and the hole cutter. In conjunction with the aforementioned; the electrical hardware's associated electrical boxes are wired directly to their electrical supply and the hardware is in turn, electrically connected to them by their respective sets of electrical terminals which make simultaneous contact with each other upon their installation. Additionally, the latching pawl mechanism and alignment device supports the weight of heavy light fittings and ceiling fans and aligns their electrical connections while they're being fixed into their installed position. These features taken together make this improved installation system substantially superior to all prior art.
