SCAFFOLDING SYSTEM

A scaffolding system can include a first platform and a second platform adjustably connected to a plurality of tower extensions. Fixing members coupled to the plurality of tower extensions may fix a separation distance between the first platform and the second platform. One or more dimensions of the first platform and one or more dimensions of the second platform may be adjustable. A position of the first and second platforms along the plurality of tower extensions may be manually adjustable. An extendable wall may be connected to outer edges of the first and second platforms.

A scaffold safety device (120) has a body (122) having an engagement formation (124) configured to engage with an element (20, 72) of a scaffold assembly (10). The device (120) also has a pressure sensor (126) configured to detect when the body is disengaged from the scaffold assembly. The engagement formation includes first and second arms (128, 130) extending away from the body. The arms are separated by a cavity (134). The cavity is configured to receive a threaded rod and a tightening nut (135) of the scaffold assembly. The pressure sensor is included on one arm (128) and is configured to detect when a pressure attains a predetermined threshold value. The pressure sensor is in communication with a control board (86) which is connected to an antenna (140) on a secondary scaffold safety device (142).

Load carrying platform shuttle

The load carrying platform shuttle has a static frame that defines a cam surface. A carriage is arranged to telescope into the static frame. A ramp has an outboard edge rotatably connected to the carriage. A cam follower is disposed on the ramp so as to engage with the cam surface. The cam surface and the cam follower cooperate such that an inboard edge of the ramp is automatically maintained at an elevated height whilst the carriage is disposed intermediate of an extended position and a retracted position and such that the inboard edge of the ramp is automatically maintained at a lowered height whilst the carriage is at the retracted position. The static frame is constructed from I-beams that are reinforced to increase their resistance to the bending moment applied by the carriage whilst it is in the extended position.

HOIST SYSTEM WITH DIRECT CURRENT POWER SUPPLY

A hoist system includes a motor with a drive shaft connected to a traction sheave, traction drum, or pinion. The hoist system further includes a compartment configured to at least partially enclose a direct current power supply such that the direct current power supply is electrically connected to the motor. The motor is configured to receive an input and convert the input to movement of the drive shaft as an output, and the motor is configured to be coupled to a load such that movement of the drive shaft moves the load.

Disclosed is a rollable platform that may be unfurled in any orientation over exposed floor or ceiling joists. The platform may be constructed of a specific arrangement of support surface panels and underside joint panels to give the platform both (a) rigidity in a direction that is normal to the support surface via gridlock between the support surface panels and (b) foldability and/or rollability in a direction that is normal to the underside joint panels due to hinged interconnection.

An extendible lateral support arm having at least two elongate arm members coupled together and displaceable relative each other. The first arm defines a first end of the extendible arm. The second arm defines a second end of the extendible arm. The distance between the first end and the second end is variable. The first end presents a first head that can engage a building structure. The second end presents a second head that can be secured to an adjacent structure.

SAFETY DEVICE

A safety device including a boom with a primary end and a secondary end, where: the primary end and secondary end are the opposite terminal ends of the boom; the primary end is configured to be, releasably or permanently, attached to a mounting which includes a mounting joint which is a hinge joint; the boom includes a base section, zero or one intermediate section and a load section connected together, in that order, by hinge joints, such that the safety device can extend from a mounting in a single plane, a movement plane, that lies parallel to the longitudinal axis of the boom, the primary end is coterminous with an exposed end, a first base end, of the load section; the load section includes a first load end and a second load end, where the first and second load ends are opposite terminal ends of the load section; the secondary end is coterminous with the second load end; and the second load end includes a connection point, where the connection point is configured to releasably attach a user to the boom via a device with fall arrest capabilities, such that the connection point does not slide lengthwise along the load section.

Scaffolding systems and a scaffolding joint therefor

A scaffolding assembly is disclosed. The system includes scaffolding poles joints (or fittings) for releasably securing the poles at cross-over points. Each scaffolding joints has an inner body member and two movable outer clamping members to clamp the poles to the body member at the cross-over points. The body member also has as a mounting for a safety connection member which projects laterally the scaffolding poles towards an operative. The safety connection member can be connected to a safety tension member from the operative such that a safety connection point is available at each of the scaffolding joints.
