TOOL FOR FORMING A CAVITY IN A MODULAR PAVEMENT SLAB AND METHOD OF FABRICATING PAVEMENT SLABS

A modular pavement slab including a paving material set around a plurality of forming tools and defining a side face and a top surface. Each of the forming tools includes an elongate body extending along a longitudinal axis and having a sidewall exterior surface configured for removal of the elongate body through the side face. Each of the forming tools also includes a riser releasably coupled to the elongate body and extending in a direction noncollinear to the corresponding longitudinal axis.

Panel attachment structure

A panel attachment structure including a panel assembly having a channel member including a channel therein. The panel assembly further includes at least one reinforcing member directly or indirectly coupled to the channel member, and an insert assembly including an insert portion. The insert portion is configured to be closely slidably received in the channel member in an insertion direction, and the insert assembly is configured to be coupled to an underlying support structure.

an anchor for being embedded in concrete for attachment to a fastener to support a load comprises a plug having a main body portion extending upwardly from a base portion, the plug for being attached to a form board prior to pouring of concrete, the plug having an end portion disposed a distance from the form board; and an anchor body attached to the end portion. The plug is separable from the anchor body and removable from the concrete after the concrete is cured, leaving the anchor body embedded in the concrete, the plug providing a void in the concrete after removal to provide an access opening for a threaded portion of a fastener to attach to the anchor body.

A concrete form includes a first sidewall and a second sidewall positioned in parallel and spaced relation to each other, where the first sidewall has a first passage extending therethrough, with a first insert received in the first passage of the first sidewall. The form also includes a first cross tie having opposed first and second ends, where the first sidewall is removably secured to the first end of the first cross tie and the second sidewall is secured to the second end of the first cross tie. A first fastener extends through the first passage and engages the first insert and the first end of the first cross tie to removably secure the first sidewall to the first cross tie. The second sidewall may be removably or non-removably secured to the first cross tie.

Composite tilt-up panel

Composite precast concrete panels are described herein having have an anchor that distributes forces imposed on the anchor through concrete wythes of the panels. Specifically, pins can be embedded in at least one concrete wythe, and then the anchor is secured to the wythe as described herein. The anchor extends through another Wythe to selectively connect to a hoist system that moves and places the composite precast concrete panel. The forces imposed on the anchor are distributed through the pins and into multiple concrete wythes to prevent failure of the composite precast concrete panels and improve safety.
