A portion of each profile member has a profiled surface portion facing inwards toward the opposite lateral side of the keyway, the profiled surface portion having, in a plane being transversal to a longitudinal axis of the key plug, a specific profile section defining a local, lateral part of the keyway. An associated key, and a method to manufacture a cylindrical key plug with such profile members are also disclosed.
Cylinder lock and key combination with a dual tumbler assembly and a key therefore
A cylinder lock and key combination with a key slot and at least one dual tumbler assembly for locking a key plug against rotation. The dual tumbler assembly includes an outer pin movable elevationally in a chamber in the key plug, and an inner pin movable telescopically in a cylindrical bore in the outer pin. The outer pin is provided with at least one key contacting end portion for engagement with a first code portion of a key blade upon insertion thereof in the key slot. The inner pin is provided with at least one key contacting end portion, for engagement with a second code portion of the key blade. The key contacting end portions of the outer and inner pins of the tumbler assembly are located adjacent to each other at axially and radially well-defined code positions relative to a center-line of the tumbler assembly.
Lock cylinder with electronic key recognition
A lock cylinder including a plug, a plurality of key followers, a sensor assembly structured to sense positions of the key followers, and a controller in communication with the sensor assembly. The plug includes a keyway and a plurality of plug tumbler shafts. Each of the key followers is movably seated in a corresponding one of the plug tumbler shafts and includes a sensor interface. The sensor assembly includes a plurality of sensors, each of which includes at least one sensing region. Each of the key followers is associated with one of the sensors via an associative link formed between the sensor interface and the corresponding sensing region. The sensors are structured to generate an output signal indicative of the transverse position of the associated key follower, and the controller is structured to select and perform actions based upon the output signals.
Systems and methods for key recognition
A lock device including a keyway sized and configured to receive a key, a sensor assembly including an optical source and a key height sensor, and a controller in communication with the sensor assembly. The optical source is configured to generate an optical signal, and the key height sensor is configured to generate a key height signal in response to receiving the optical signal. The key is configured to interact with the optical signal such that the key height signal varies based upon the height of the key. The controller is configured to generate a key profile based at least in part upon the key height signal, to compare the key profile to authorization data, to select an action based upon the comparing, and to perform the action.
KEY AND CORE WITH CAM BLOCKING
A lock core includes a shell, a plug within and rotatable relative to the shell between a first position and a second position about a longitudinal axis of the plug, and a lock. The lock has a first locked position preventing rotation of the plug relative to the shell, an unlocked position allowing rotation of the plug relative to the shell and a second locked position different from the first locked position preventing rotation of the plug relative to the shell. The lock is moveable from the first locked position preventing rotation of the plug relative to the shell to the unlocked position with a first movement of the lock, the first movement having a vector component along the longitudinal axis of the plug and a vector component along an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the plug
CYLINDER LOCK AND ASSOCIATED KEY
A cylinder lock and an associated key, the lock including a fixed body and a plug which is accommodated within a respective cavity of the body and can rotate with respect to the body. The plug includes a substantially longitudinal compartment for the functional accommodation of a key which includes a grip portion from which an elongated body extends and which is provided with coding grooves and protrusions on its outer surface. Between the plug and the body are respective accommodation channels for translating coding elements, which open onto the substantially longitudinal compartment. The plug includes at least one auxiliary duct which faces the substantially longitudinal compartment and extends at least partially in the body for the sliding accommodation of at least one coding unit that includes at least one pin and at least one conical portion.
KEY AND CORRESPONDING LOCK
