METHOD OF OPENING AND CLOSING A BI-FOLD DOOR
20200224474 · 2020-07-16 ·

A latch assembly connected to the drive unit of a bi-fold door for retaining the bi-fold door secure to a building has elongated straps attached to rotatable latch drums mounted on the outer ends of the drive shaft of the drive unit. Lift drums powered by a motor driven gearbox raise and lower the bi-fold door. Latch assemblies having springs attached to the straps maintain tension on the straps during the opening and closing of the bi-fold door.

Fixation device especially for glass folding devices

A fixation device for limiting a gap between a first construction component and a second construction component relative to which the first construction component is movable has first and second fitting parts attached to the first and second construction components, respectively. The first fitting part has a fixation projection with first end and opposed second end. The first end is pivotable about a fixation axis fixed at the first construction component. The fixation projection is pretensioned so as to pivot the second end away from the first construction component. The second fitting part has a guiding surface and a holding element. Fixation projection and guiding surface interact such that, when the construction parts are moved toward each other, the second end glides along the guiding surface toward the holding element and catches therein. A folding device of construction components is provided with such fixation devices.

LOCK ASSEMBLY

A lock assembly comprising: a cradle configured to support at least part of a lock cylinder; a lock body configured to retain the cradle at least partly inside a space provided in the lock body; and a first fastener for fastening the lock cylinder to the cradle. A method for installing a lock assembly in a door or window comprising: attaching a lock cylinder to a cradle using a first fastener; and attaching the cradle to a lock body. A lock assembly comprising: a lock body having a longitudinal axis; a first bolt provided at least in part inside the lock body and configured to move substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis and between a first retracted position and a first extended position; an actuator configured to move the first bolt between the first retracted position and the first extended position; and a locking bar configured in an unlocked position to allow the first bolt to move to or from the first extended position and in a locked position to engage with the first bolt preventing the first bolt from moving from the first extended position.

Latch mechanism

The present invention is directed to a latch mechanism for latching a door or window panel to a frame. The latch mechanism includes: a pair of first members, a first of the pair of first members being located in an upper region of either the door or window panel or the frame, and a second of the pair of first members being located in a lower region of either the door or window panel or the frame and a pair of second members, a first of the pair of second members being located in an upper region of the other of the door or window panel or the frame to the first of the pair of first members and a second of the pair of second members being located in a lower region of the other of the door or window panel or the frame to the second of the pair first members the second members being movable between an unlatched position and a latched position wherein the second members are brought into abutment with, or close proximity to, the respective first members, wherein the first members are adapted to move from the unlatched position to the latched position under a magnetic attraction to the respective second members when the door or window panel is brought into a closed condition and wherein the second members are coupled to a controller via one or more linkage members, wherein actuation of the controller results in moving the second members from the latched position to the unlatched position.

A door package or door assembly includes multiple door panels. A top frame member has one or more tracks upon which one or more door panels may slide relative to a door opening to close the door opening when in a fully extended position and to open the doorway when in a retracted position. When in its retracted or open position, a plurality of door panels may also pivot about a pivot plate attached to the floor to a broken open position essentially perpendicular to the plane of the doorway opening. Upper and lower magnetic latch assemblies automatically decouple to permit pivoting of the entire door panel assembly when the panels are fully retracted, and when the panels are not fully retracted, are automatically actuated to prevent pivoting of the door panel assembly.

An apparatus has an actuator housing with a transmission side that defines a transmission slot. A slider is disposed in the actuator housing and has first and second ends which define a post receiver. The slider is movable between a first and second position. The post receiver is aligned with the slot when the slider is in the first position and the second position. A lever pivotably connected to the actuator housing is configured to move the slider from the first position to the second position. The transmission has an elongate element with a first and second end which is disposed outside the actuator housing and substantially parallel to and proximate the transmission side. A post extends from the first end and is received in the post receiver. A locking element is disposed proximate the second end of the first elongate element and is configured to receive the second end.

A multi-panel door or window apparatus is provided. The apparatus has at least first and second panels that are foldable relative to one another. An automatic latch arrangement is provided that automatically actuates a shootbolt to engage a track of the apparatus as the first and second panels transition towards a co-planar relationship. Methods of latching the apparatus are provided as well. The automatic latch arrangement independent of the door or window apparatus is also provided.

Two point lock for bi-fold windows and doors

A two point lock for securing bi-folding windows and doors in which upper and lower shoot bolt arms move in opposite directions from a central lock body upon rotation of a handle. When the arms are in their mutually extended positions, a sliding detent locking member engages the upper shoot bolt arm to secure the window or door in the closed position. The central lock body includes a rotating driver for the shoot bolt arms that is supported at both ends and is maintained in two different positions by interaction with the curved contact faces of a set of biasing pads.
