Two point lock for bi-fold windows and doors

A two point lock for securing bi-folding windows and doors in which upper and lower shoot bolt arms move in opposite directions from a central lock body upon rotation of a handle. When the arms are in their mutually extended positions, a sliding detent locking member engages the upper shoot bolt arm to secure the window or door in the closed position. The central lock body includes a rotating driver for the shoot bolt arms that is supported at both ends and is maintained in two different positions by interaction with the curved contact faces of a set of biasing pads.

MULTIPLE POINT DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM
20190071902 · 2019-03-07 · ·

A door lock system comprising a first rotary configured to control extension and retraction of the deadbolt via a primary cam mechanism; a second rotary control configured to control extension and retraction of the latch; and a link configured to retract the deadbolt in response to operation of the second rotary control when the latch is retracted by the second rotary control. The link is configured to move along a linear path normal to the movement of the deadbolt and the door latch and to contact the primary cam mechanism upon the link movement to affect deadbolt retraction and extension. A lever may be used to retract the latch in response to rotation of the first rotary control in a first rotational direction when the deadbolt is retracted by the first rotary control.

MAGNETICALLY-TRIGGERED LOCK MECHANISM
20180347234 · 2018-12-06 ·

A magnetically-triggered lock mechanism for interengaging two relatively movable components, comprising a bolt displaceable between extended and retracted positions, the bolt mounted within a first component and interengageable with a second component when the first and second components are in a predetermined position relative to each other and the bolt is extended. The lock mechanism includes a magnetically-releasable latch mechanism positioned to latch the bolt in a retracted position, the latch mechanism including a first magnet and mounted for movement between a biased latch engaging position and a latch releasing position in a non-common direction of movement of the bolt, and a second magnet positioned to displace the latch mechanism to the latch releasing position when the first component is in the predetermined position relative to the second component. The first and second magnets are positioned to displace the latch mechanism to the latch releasing position as a result of magnetic repulsion when the first component is in the predetermined position relative to the second component.

AUTOMATICALLY-EXTENDIBLE DEADBOLT LATCH ASSEMBLY
20180320414 · 2018-11-08 ·

A latch assembly for a door includes automatically deployable deadbolt. When the door is closed and the latch engages a strike plate, the deadbolt automatically extends into a corresponding opening in a door jamb to secure the door.

SAFETY DEVICE FOR CLOSURES
20180283059 · 2018-10-04 ·

A safety device for closures that comprises, a casing (6) that can be fastened in a closure, a bolt (4) that is movable inside the casing (6), a stop (4.1) that is integral to the bolt (4), a seal (2) arranged in a fixed manner with respect to the casing (6), a spring (5) in contact with the stop (4.1) and arranged in a compressed manner in the casing (6) due to the effect of the seal (2); wherein the seal (2) is made of a material that is configured to change state at a preset temperature, such that when it changes state, the spring (5) is free to move the bolt (4), passing through the seal (2) until it projects outside the casing (6).

A guard locking element (4) actuatable by means of an electric drive (6). By means of the electric drive (6), the guard locking element (4) can be brought into a blocking position such that an actuator (2) of a safety switch is locked by said guard locking element. The guard locking element (4) is connected to the electric drive (6) by means of a coupling (11) such that a rotary motion of the electric drive (6) is converted into a purely translatory motion of the guard locking element (4).

TRASH BIN CABINET FOR A CHECKOUT STATION
20180255943 · 2018-09-13 ·

A trash bin cabinet for a checkout station in a retail store is described. The checkout station includes the trash bin cabinet with a drawer locking mechanism, and a trash level sensor with an optical notification system. The trash bin cabinet has a drawer unit that contains at least one trash bin. The drawer locking mechanism locks the drawer when the drawer unit is closed so the drawer unit does not come open by itself and become a hazard or a nuisance. The trash level sensor senses the level of trash in the trash bins and sends a trash level status signal to the optical notification system. The optical notification system optically radiates the trash level status signal so people or sensors can monitor the level of trash in the trash bins without visiting the checkout station.

Locking Bolt that Can Be Installed Without Threads
20180245382 · 2018-08-30 ·

A locking bolt or hinge bolt with a guide sleeve that can be secured to a machine part such as a sheet metal wall or door leaf, a locking pin being guided therein so as to be axially displaceable against spring force, and with a handle which is axially guided by the outer surface of the guide sleeve, wherein the guide sleeve has a head constituting an outer shoulder by which the guide sleeve is fastened to the machine part.

STAND-UP GUN SAFE
20180163456 · 2018-06-14 ·

A stand-up gun safe comprises a substantially vertical, but moderately tilted, spine that supports one or more hinges, which in turn support two shell components that rotate relative to the spine and swivel relative to each other. In a closed configuration, the respective edges of the two shell components abut each other, creating a secure seam. In an open configuration, the two shell components are separated from each other as they swivel and rotate away from each other on the hinges secured to the spine. A locking mechanism keeps the two shell components in a closed state. Because the spine is tilted, and the two shells are located on the top of the spine, when the lock is released gravity forces the two shells apart from each other, thereby resulting in a gravity-powered opening.
