An electromechanical strut and method of moving a closure member of a vehicle between an open position and a closed position is provided. The electromechanical strut includes a power drive unit including a motor, a leadscrew, a planetary gearset operably connecting the motor to the leadscrew, and an electromechanical brake assembly. The electromechanical strut further includes a telescoping unit including an extensible tube and a drive nut for converting rotary motion of the leadscrew into linear motion of the telescoping unit. The electromechanical brake assembly is selectively moveable between an engaged state, wherein the leadscrew is prevented from rotating to prevent relative axial movement between the power drive unit and the telescoping unit, and a disengaged state, wherein the leadscrew is permitted to rotate to allow relative axial movement between the power drive unit and the telescoping unit.

DAMPER DEVICE
A damper device provided between a fixed body having an opening portion and an openable and closable body mounted on the opening portion and configured to apply a braking force to the openable and closable body. An elastic resin member is mounted on a projecting portion provided on the openable and closable body. A receiving recess portion is provided on the fixed body to receive the elastic resin member. The elastic resin member has a base portion; a pair of arm portions; a bridge portion; and a stopper, which are formed integrally. The receiving recess portion has: an introducing portion configured to abut with the arm portions to bend them diametrically towards each other; and a restricting portion configured to abut with the stopper to restrict the openable and closable body from opening, when the openable and closable body opens to cause the elastic resin member to move.

Hinge device
A hinge device includes a fixed shaft, a rotating sleeve, a fixed connection member, a torsion spring, a rotating connection member and a friction resistance assembly. The rotating sleeve is rotatably mounted on the fixed shaft and is located between a fixed end and a free end. One end of the fixed connection member is fixedly connected to the free end, and the other end is provided with a first slot. Two ends of the torsion spring are respectively equipped with a first snap-in pin and a second snap-in pin. The first snap-in pin inserts into the first slot. An extension part protrudes from a fixed part of the of the rotating connection member and is provided with a second slot. The second snap-in pin inserts into the second slot. The friction resistance assembly is disposed on the fixed shaft to provide torsional resistance to the rotating sleeve.

A vehicular opening/closing body control device includes a braking controller configured to apply a braking force to an opening/closing body, a full-closing detection unit configured to detect that the opening/closing body is in a fully-closed state, and a failure detection unit configured to detect failure of a latch mechanism provided on the opening/closing body. The latch mechanism is provided with a pawl switch, which is switched between ON and OFF states in conjunction with operation of a pawl. The failure detection unit detects, based on the ON and OFF states of the pawl switch, occurrence of an engagement failure in which the latch mechanism fails to hold the opening/closing body in the fully-closed state. The braking controller executes braking control for applying the braking force to the opening/closing body when the engagement failure is detected in the latch.
