Systems and methods for insulating attic openings
A cover for closing an access opening that leads to an infrequently used space within a building, such as an attic, that generally provides an air seal, thermal insulation and/or acoustic insulation at the access opening. The cover may be in one or two portions, including a closure alone or a closure and a frame having an aperture that can be closed by engagement between the closure and the frame. When the cover is used alone it engages a frame or a wall circumscribing the access opening. The cover is sized and shaped to close a stairwell, or the opening at one end of a stairway, an opening in a generally vertical wall, a hatch, or a pull down ladder. The closure and frame are each made of one or more components.

ATTIC ENTRANCE INSULATION COVER
An attic-insulation cover designed to cover access doors leading into attic spaces, such as scuttle holes and vertical attic doors includes an attic insulation flange or border for placement over the attic opening frame, the attic insulation flange having a first top end and a second bottom end, an attic insulation jacket having a top wall, parallel side walls, parallel end walls and a bottom panel; and a closure device at the second bottom end of the attic-insulation flange for connecting the attic insulation flange and the attic insulation jacket.
Molded plastic access door
A molded access door assembly for an access opening in a wall or ceiling is provided. It includes a molded frame with a frame channel forming the outside of the access door assembly. The frame channel has spaced apart exterior and interior walls joined at the top edge by a top wall and a lip extending from the bottom edge of the inner wall into the interior of the molded access door assembly to define an opening. The lip provides a stop rest for the door in the closed position so that the door is capable of being attached to the wall or ceiling. The assembly also includes a door having a top surface and a first part of a hinge assembly along one edge of the top surface which cooperates with a matching second part of the hinge assembly along one edge of the frame channel to allow the door to move between an open and a closed position.

ESCAPE DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR STORM SHELTER
A storm shelter escape door assembly includes a frame and a door hinged to the frame. The frame includes three inner sidewalls, an open end, and a horizontal attachment plate extending outwardly from upper edges of the inner sidewalls. The door has at least three outer sidewalls joined by a door face. The door is hinged to the frame adjacent the open end and below the horizontal attachment plate so the door is openable in an inward direction away from the horizontal attachment plate. When the door is in a closed position, the door face angles downwardly toward the open end to cause water to run off the door.
Short penetration flashing, flashing systems and methods for installing them
The present disclosure relates generally to a roofing system including flashing, for example, suitable for protecting a roof from water leakage. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a roofing system including first, second, and third courses of shingles, where the second course overlaps the first and the third course overlaps the second. A flashing plate is disposed over the first course of shingles and partially under the second course of shingles. The flashing plate and the third course of shingles are spaced apart by a gap in a direction of the slope of the roof between a top edge of the flashing plate and a lower edge of the third course of shingles.
THERMAL RESISTANT SHEET FOR A ROOF HATCH
A roof hatch comprising at least one thermal resistant sheet having one or more sections is disclosed. The one or more sections are configured thereon to curb heat transfer. The roof hatch further comprises a frame to be installed on a roof and a hatch cover is configured for housing the thermal resistant sheet. The hatch cover and the frame are connected by a movable joint which enables the hatch cover to collapse over the frame. A sealing element is provided on at least a portion of the hatch cover. The thermal resistant sheet is held by the hatch cover by a temporary joint, a permanent joint or a combination thereof. The thickness of the hatch cover is in the range of 0.060 inches to 0.090 inches. The length of the one or more sections have a length which is less than a length of the edge.

BOX CONSTRUCTION LOCK
A box construction lock with a strike plate assembly is provided. The box construction lock includes a locking mechanism with a locking latch-bolt, located in a lock housing, so that in the lock locked position, the locking latch-bolt is at least partially in the strike plate assembly, and there is adjustment range between the lock housing and the locking mechanism of the lock housing, so that the lock housing has at least two positions relative to the locking mechanism.
