11542767 · 2023-01-03 · ·

A device for transport of an apparatus along a conduit or bore hole including a drill string. The device has a body having a coupled upper body portion and a lower body portion movable axially relative to each other. A fluid flow path in the body selectively enables fluid to flow through the body. A first valve system at a first end of the internal fluid flow path 58 is operable by a pressure differential between a region external of the body and the fluid flow path. A second valve system at a second end of the internal fluid flow path is operable by relative movement between the upper body portion and lower body portion. The body has one or more openings downstream of the first valve system through which fluid can flow or fluid pressure can be communicated to the apparatus.

Hydrocarbon production field layout

A hydrocarbon production field layout comprising a first pipeline (1) with a first inner diameter and a second pipeline (2) with the first inner diameter. A cut off valve (20) with an inner bore with the first diameter, is arranged in a connecting arrangement between an end of the first pipeline (1) and an end of the second pipeline (2). At least one dual main header manifold (3) is in fluid connection with at least one hydrocarbon well (8, 9). A first branch pipe (16, 18) with a first valve (5, 6) is branched off from the first pipeline (1) and a second branch pipe (17, 19) with a second valve (5, 7) is branched off from the second pipeline (2). The branch pipes are connected to the at least one manifold (3, 4).

Latching apparatus and method

A latching apparatus includes a body, a fin biased to protrude from the body, and a biasing element for so biasing the fin. A method for securing a tool in a drilling tubular includes connecting the tool to a latching apparatus, the latching apparatus including a fin biased to protrude radially outward, forcing the latching apparatus into the drilling tubular, and forcing the latching apparatus through a landing ring.

Methods and devices for casing and cementing wellbores

A casing string is augmented with one or more variable flow resistance devices or “vibrating tools” to facilitate advancement of the casing and distribution of the cement in the annulus once the casing is properly positioned. Vibrating tools in the form of plugs can be pumped down and landed inside the casing string. The method includes vibrating the casing string while advancing the casing down the wellbore or while the cement is pumped into the annulus, or both. After the cementing operation is completed, the devices may be drilled out or retrieved with fishing tools to reopen the casing string for further operations. One or more wipers may be provided on the plugs, but the section housing the flow path may be free of wipers to allow the size and flow capacity of the flow path to be optimized.

Method and system to determine variations in a fluidic channel

A system is provided that includes a dart, a pressure sensor, and a controller communicatively coupled with the sensor. The dart is disposed in a fluidic channel. The dart has a main body and a flange extending from the main body and has a diameter greater than or equal to a diameter of the fluidic channel. When the dart translates within the fluidic channel and passes a location of a variation in the fluidic channel, the flange creates a pressure pulse. The pressure sensor measures the pressure pulse within the fluidic channel created by the dart. The controller determines the location of the variation based on the measured pressure pulse.

LINER HANGER RUNNING TOOL

Liner hanger running tool (LHRT) having a mandrel with a central through-bore includes a transducer configured to identify a predetermined activation signal and, based on receipt of the predetermined activation signal, transmit an actuation signal. The LHRT also includes a power source. In addition, the LHRT includes a valve. Further, the LHRT includes an actuator configured to be operated by the power source and activated by the actuation signal from the transducer to close the valve in the central through-bore in the mandrel.

A perforating gun string is configured to perforate a casing of a well, and the perforating gun string includes a latch mechanism configured to engage with the casing, one or more perforating guns connected with a cable to the latch mechanism, and a global cable that releasably holds together the latch mechanism and the one or more individual perforating guns. The perforating gun string may also comprise a spreading mechanism configured to move away from the latch mechanism and to spread the one or more individual perforating guns away from the latch mechanism.
