CLEANOUT TOOLS AND RELATED METHODS OF OPERATION
Cleanout tools and related methods of operation. At least some of the example embodiments are cleanout tools including a tool body that defines an internal annular channel, a joiner coupled to the tool body, a sleeve telescoped within the joiner and tool body, and a ball disposed within the annular channel. The ball held within the annular channel by the sleeve, and the ball configured to move along the annular channel under force of fluid pumped into the cleanout tool. The ball creates a pulsing of fluid streams exiting the tool body. Moreover, in some example systems the fluid streams created by the tool body intersect the inside diameter of a casing at non-perpendicular angles.
Systems and methods for gravel packing wells
A well screen system includes upstream and downstream screen assemblies arranged along an axis. The assemblies each have first and second transport tubes. A first packing tube is connected to the first transport tube by first adapter and has an uppermost nozzle axially spaced from the first adapter by a first effective packing tube length. A second packing tube is connected to the second transport tube by a second adapter and has an uppermost nozzle axially spaced from the second adapter by a second effective packing tube length different than the first effective packing tube length. The downstream screen assembly second transport tube is connected to the upstream screen assembly first transport tube to alternate the effective packing tube lengths of packing tube uppermost nozzles along the screen system. Methods of making well screen systems and methods of gravel packing well screen systems are also disclosed.
Downhole disconnect tool
A system can include a disconnect tool connected as part of a tubular string, the disconnect tool including an outer housing, and an inner mandrel in the outer housing, in which an abrasive slurry is directed to flow through the tubular string and from the inner mandrel to an annulus between the inner mandrel and the outer housing, and the abrasive slurry erodes through the outer housing. A method can include installing a tubular string in a well, then deploying a disconnect assembly into the tubular string, and flowing an abrasive slurry through the disconnect assembly, thereby parting the tubular string. A disconnect tool can include a rotational flow structure configured to induce rotational flow, and an inner diameter decrease downstream of the rotational flow structure.
Piston initiator for sidetrack assembly
A piston initiator is used on an assembly having a milling tool and a whipstock for creating a sidetrack in a wellbore. A piston disposed in an uphole position in a bore of the milling tool seals the bore from communicating with the port. A line from the port can communicate pressure to components on the whipstock for initiating their activation. The piston is movable from the uphole position, but is held by a releasable connection configured to release the piston in response to a predetermined force from fluid flow in a downhole direction against an exposed surface area of the piston. An uphole shoulder in the milling tool prevents movement of the piston in an uphole direction so the piston does not stress the releasable connection in response to reverse fluid flow through the milling tool.
One-trip screen installation and cleaning system
A one-trip screen installation and cleaning system includes a tubular supporting a screen. The tubular has an inner surface defining a flow bore positioned radially inwardly of the screen. At least one actuator extends radially inwardly from the inner surface and is positioned axially offset relative to the screen. The at least one actuator includes at least one actuator surface. A wash pipe is arranged in the flow bore. The wash pipe includes a bypass valve including a selectively openable outlet port, a spray cleaning device arranged axially outwardly of the selectively openable outlet port, and an inflow control valve arranged between the selectively openable outlet port and the spray cleaning device.

SELECTIVELY OPENABLE COMMUNICATION PORT FOR A WELLBORE DRILLING SYSTEM
A window mill is positionable in a wellbore having an annulus. The window mill includes a mill body having an outer surface, a conduit extending axially through the mill body, and a flow port extending from the conduit through the outer surface. A nozzle shuttle including a nozzle is arranged in the conduit. The nozzle shuttle selectively extending over the flow port. A selectively openable port adapter extends between the flow port and the nozzle shuttle. The selectively openable port adapter is responsive to fluid pressure to fluidically expose the conduit to the annulus through the flow port.
Phase transformation material delivery and deployment chassis for openhole isolation
An openhole interval of a well may be sealed by deploying a liquified phase transformation material to the openhole interval and allowing it to harden. In at least one example, this may be performed in a single step of building and maintaining pressure. The pressure may rupture a membrane, to introduce a fluid into a chamber with a reactive material (e.g. powder) in a delivery chassis, whereupon the fluid may exothermically combine with the reactive material to liquify the solid phase transformation material. The same applied pressure may also deliver the liquified phase transformation material to a deployment chassis, which then distributes the liquified phase transformation material under pressure to the openhole interval of the well. Various delivery chassis, deployment chassis, and related compositions and methods are disclosed as well.
Dissolvable plugged nozzle assembly for limited entry liners
A nozzle for use with a limited entry liner. A limited entry liner can house multiple nozzles and each nozzle can include a barrel and a central, dissolvable region. The dissolvable region is made of a material that has specific properties that allow the central region to withstand pressure and environment in a well up to a certain, known point at which time the central portion will dissolve and allow fluid to pass into the limited entry liner.
REINFORCING WELLBORES PRIOR TO CASING AND CEMENTING
A coating reservoir defining a chamber operable retain to a liquid coating. A retractable application assembly includes a nozzle fluidically coupled to the coating reservoir. The nozzle is configured to dispense the liquid coating onto a wall of a wellbore. A spreader is proximal to the nozzle. The spreader is configured to regulate a thickness of the liquid coating dispensed by the nozzle. A flexible coating housing is positioned between the coating reservoir and the nozzle. The coating housing is configured to seal against a wall of the wellbore and seal the nozzle, spreader, and dispensed liquid coating from contamination within the wellbore.
