SURFACE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION
20180371706 · 2018-12-27 ·

Provided is a surfacing system, such as an artificial turf system. The surfacing system includes a base member formed from a plurality of interconnected tile members. The base member is configured to accept a suitable amount of infill material. A covering layer such as an artificial turf layer is applied over the infilled base member and secured to a flexible outer border member. Also provided is a method of installing the surfacing system.

INLET SPACING ON ROAD GRADES

A method, system, apparatus, and computer program products provides the ability to dynamically define and generate inlet spacing along a road in a building information model (BIM) computer aided design (CAD) three dimensional (3D) model. A representation of a road is acquired in the BIM CAD 3D model, wherein the representation includes a geometry. An inlet spacing is defined for the road. Inlet locations for inlets are determined based on the inlet spacing. A determination is made regarding whether the inlet spacing and inlets satisfy design rules for the road. When the inlet spacing and/or inlets fail to satisfy the design rules, a different inlet spacing is selected from a group of preset integers, and the process repeats until the design rules are satisfied.

Paver Locking Apparatus and Method

The present invention is directed to a paver edge restraint system for reducing shifting of a paver units making up a paved surface having one or more edge restraints installed along at least a portion of the periphery of the paved surface. The paver edge restraint system includes at least one peripheral edging member, at least one edging securement member for holding the at least one peripheral edging member to the ground, at least one paver retention strap that extends underneath a plurality of paver units constituting a portion of the paved surface, and at least one clamping unit mounted on the at least one peripheral edging member for securing and tightening the at least one strap to maintain the joint integrity of the plurality of paver units installed above and adjacent to the at least one strap.

Edge restraint with mechanism for restricted horizontal movement
12091823 · 2024-09-17 · ·

An edge restraint and method of use where the edge restraint has a vertical wall for retaining segmental pavement in an installation placement and a horizontal base having a plurality of teeth extending therefrom and providing discrete focused points for providing friction between the edge restraint and an installation surface to prevent horizontal movement of the edging in at least one direction with respect to the installation surface. A leading edge of the base is installed under a first surface with the wall providing a barrier between the first surface and a second surface for engaging the teeth with a third surface to prevent movement of edging in a horizontal direction away from the first surface.

Edging system for unit pavement system
10060081 · 2018-08-28 ·

A method of installing an edging system for a unit pavement system includes positioning a paver-contacting surface of an edge restraint against an edge of a unit pavement system including a plurality of paver units, and driving a horizontal stake in a generally horizontal direction underneath at least one paver unit of the plurality of paver units and into a granular material layer upon which the unit pavement system is supported such that the horizontal stake is operatively connected with the edge restraint. The edge restraint includes a horizontal section and a vertical section joined at a corner. The vertical section extends upwardly from and generally perpendicular to the horizontal section. An edging system for a unit pavement system is also disclosed.

Hard Surface Deployed Fiber

A surface-mounted fiber segment includes at least one bare optical fiber glass segment disposed onto a receiving surface, and an adhesive material applied to the at least one bare optical fiber glass segment. The adhesive material substantially encapsulates the at least one bare optical fiber glass segment and adheres the at least one bare optical fiber glass segment onto the receiving surface.

Impact Absorbing Non-Slip Curb Cover
20180187386 · 2018-07-05 ·

An impact absorbing non-slip curb cover consists of a longitudinal structural body, an impact absorbent section, and a cover adhesive. The longitudinal structural body is positioned over a curb via the cover adhesive. The impact absorbent section is connected along an external surface of the longitudinal structural body. When no external force is applied, the impact absorbent section is in an extended configuration. When an external force is applied, the impact absorbent section obtains the collapsed configuration. As a result, the external force is not transferred onto the curb. Moreover, a motor vehicle or other source that applied the external force is also not damaged. For safety purposes, a grit layer and a reflective coating can be integrated into the external surface. A lightweight non-rigid material is used to manufacture the longitudinal structural body and the impact absorbent section.

Landscape edging stake and method

A landscape edging stake includes a driving end, a penetration end and an edging engagement portion positioned between the driving end and the penetration end. The edging engagement portion includes a rib configured to engage an inner wall of an anchoring bore of an edging link. A ground engagement portion is positioned between the edging engagement portion and the penetration end and includes a helical groove or thread.

Monolithic paver

Various monolithic pavers are described herein. The monolithic pavers described herein are one-piece pavers with no seams, joints, or connections. A monolithic paver can be formed via three dimensional (3D) printing or molding. The monolithic paver is designed to carry applied loads to paver support(s) via structural members of the monolithic paver. The monolithic paver is formed to include parallel structural members that are spaced with gaps there between. The parallel structural members include top flanges and webs. The parallel structural members can also include bottom flanges. Moreover, the monolithic paver can have exterior sides that have tongues and grooves formed there along; tongues can be formed along adjoining exterior sides of the monolithic paver.
