Paving Process
Described herein is a process for paving a surface with an asphalt paving material, comprising the steps of laying asphalt paving material on a surface to be paved; and combining an asphalt rejuvenator and the asphalt paving material; wherein the asphalt rejuvenator and the asphalt paving material are combined immediately before, concurrently with, or immediately after the asphalt paving material is laid on the surface to be paved. The asphalt paving material may be virgin asphalt, or it may comprise reclaimed asphalt pavement and/or recycled asphalt shingles.
Roller assembly for smoothing granular media
A roller assembly for smoothing an expanse of granular media such as golf bunker sand, snow, horse race track dirt, or other media. The assembly has one or more rollers having a longitudinal axis. Each roller includes wires spaced from the axis to define a roller surface. Each wire is resiliently flexible to distort inwardly in response to force of contact on, and to recover during release of force from, the granular media as the roller rotates about the axis on the granular media. A shaft extends along the axis of the roller assembly between the arms of a yoke with a handle extending therefrom. As the roller surface traverses the media, at least some of the media is flung outwardly of the roller, smoothing the expanse. The roller assembly may be manually operated or may be towed behind a towing apparatus.
Roller assembly for smoothing granular media

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASPHALT DENSITY AND SOIL MOISTURE MEASUREMENTS USING GROUND PENETRATING RADAR
Systems and methods for ground penetrating radar for determining thickness, density and moisture are therefore provided. According to an embodiment, a ground penetrating radar (GPR) system comprises a system controller configured to produce an electromagnetic signal for signal penetration of a pavement material. Further, the GPR system comprises a frequency modulated continuous wave controller. Further, the GPR system comprises an ultra wide band (UWB) antenna coupled to the system controller, wherein the UWB antenna is configured to transmit the produced electromagnetic signal to the pavement material and receive the electromagnetic signal as a reflection from the pavement material. Further, the system controller is further configured to receive the electromagnetic signal from the UWB antenna.
Paving operation control method and system
In one aspect, a method of controlling an operation of a compactor during a paving operation may include obtaining thermal image data and position data of an asphalt mat using a measuring device on a paving machine, and determining, using a controller, whether a person is on the asphalt mat based on a temperature range and the thermal image data. The method also includes determining, using the controller, a distance between the person and the compactor using the obtained position data and a position of the compactor, and generating, using the controller, a signal for reducing a speed of the compactor when the determined distance between the person and the compactor is less than a maintain speed threshold distance. In other aspects, a related system is provided for controlling a compactor during a paving operation.
Paving operation control method and system
In one aspect, a method of controlling an operation of a compactor during a paving operation may include obtaining thermal image data and position data of an asphalt mat using a measuring device on a paving machine, and determining, using a controller, whether a person is on the asphalt mat based on a temperature range and the thermal image data. The method also includes determining, using the controller, a distance between the person and the compactor using the obtained position data and a position of the compactor, and generating, using the controller, a signal for reducing a speed of the compactor when the determined distance between the person and the compactor is less than a maintain speed threshold distance. In other aspects, a related system is provided for controlling a compactor during a paving operation.
Adjustable mass eccentric for multi-amplitude vibratory mechanism for compactor and system and method thereof
An adjustable mass eccentric for a multi-amplitude vibratory mechanism can comprise a body and an internal cavity defined by the body such that the body surrounds the internal cavity. The internal cavity can include a first section, a second section, and a third section between the first section and the second section. The third section can define a volume and/or an area less than respective volumes and/or areas of the first section and the second section of the internal cavity. Filler material may be provided in the internal cavity and can migrate to and from the first, second, and third sections based on rotational movement of the body and internal cavity.
Impact compactor
An impact compactor including a first part including at least one non-round compactor drum rotatably mounted; and a second part connected, and movable relative, to the first part. The impact compactor includes a damping arrangement connected between the first and second parts and configured to provide a damping function for movement between the first and second parts. The damping arrangement includes an outer tubular member defining a non-circular inner channel/passage; a non-circular inner shaft member defining a first axis of rotation and is positioned, at least partially, in the channel/passage; and at least one wedge formation between the shaft member and the tubular member. The wedge formation is at least partially resiliently deformable and configured to resist/oppose rotation between the shaft member and the tubular member about the first axis of rotation. One member is connected to the first part, while the other member is connected to the second part.
Earth working machine
An earth working machine (10), in particular a road milling machine, a stabilizer, or the like, having a milling drum (30) that is mounted rotatably on a machine frame (11) and is populated or populatable on its outer circumference with working tools (31); the working tools (31) to come into contact, during working operation, with the ground that is to be worked to remove it; a drive unit (20) drives the milling drum (30) by means of a drive motor (21); an input drive shaft (33) couplable to the drive motor (21) is attached to the milling drum (30); and a ballast element, constituting a kinetic mass (57), increases the kinetic energy of the milling drum (30). The kinetic mass (57) is couplable to or decouplable from the rotatable milling drum (30), or a rotational member indirectly or directly coupled to the milling drum (30), via a shiftable coupling (55).
Compactor
A compactor includes a compactor structure and at least one roller unit rotatably supported on the compactor structure about a roller axis of rotation. A roller heater is deployed in assignment with at least one roller unit. The roller heater is a liquid fuel-operated heating device with a burner region, a fuel pump for supplying liquid fuel from a fuel tank to the burner region and a combustion air blower for supplying combustion air to the burner region.
