A milling attachment is attachable to a host vehicle so that the host vehicle provides propulsion of the milling attachment. The milling attachment has a milling drum, a discharge baffle, and a baffle actuator. The milling drum is adjustably positioned vertically to determine milling depth. The discharge baffle is positioned rearward of the milling drum and pivotally adjustable to maintain a desired space between the milling drum and the discharge baffle at any of the vertical positions of the milling drum. The baffle actuator causes the pivoting of the discharge baffle. The milling attachment may further comprise a hood with a bit access hatch that provides access to the milling drum. The milling attachment may also further comprise a connection securing assembly for securing the milling attachment to the host vehicle by securing a bucket of the host vehicle within a bucket slot in the milling attachment.

A machine service set position control system is used on a machine that includes a frame, traction devices connected to the frame, a power source connected to the traction devices and configured to rotate the traction devices, a drum chamber connected to the frame, a milling drum rotatably supported within the drum chamber and configured to engage with a ground surface, and a rotor drive train connected to the milling drum and configured to rotate the milling drum to mill the ground surface, the rotor drive train including a gearbox. The service set position control system is programmed to determine a position of at least the rotor drive train and selectively operate a rotor drive train actuator connected to the rotor drive train based on the determined position to move the machine into a machine service set position allowing easy access for a technician to perform service.

A ventilation system and method for a cold planer are provided. The ventilation system includes a settling box inside a water tank. The settling box includes a body. The body includes at least one sidewall defining an air inlet having a first cross-section to accept dust and fumes generated by a milling drum operation of the cold planer but to reject particles from the milling drum operation at or above a predetermined size. The settling box further includes an air outlet having a second cross-section less than the first cross-section of the air inlet. The ventilation system further includes an outlet pipe connected to the air outlet, a fan and a cleaning system. The fan is configured to pull air from below the air inlet into the settling box, through the air outlet and to the outlet pipe.
