THERMOPLASTIC KETTLE AUXILIARY HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEM
20170227289 · 2017-08-10 ·

An auxiliary heat exchanger that is used in conjunction with thermoplastic melter kettles. The auxiliary heat exchanger receives molten thermoplastic material from the bottom of a melter kettle, transports the molten thermoplastic material though the auxiliary heat exchanger and feeds the molten thermoplastic material into the top of the melter kettle thereby mixing hotter molten thermoplastic material from the bottom of the melter kettle into cooler thermoplastic material near the top of the melter kettle. The auxiliary heat exchanger includes an oil bath chamber and parallel heat transfer tubes that are arranged in a serpentine configuration and include motor drive augers to transport molten thermoplastic material through the auxiliary heat exchanger.

MARKING TAPE, METHOD OF APPLYING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE MARKING TAPE

A marking tape for application on pavement which comprises a core layer and an adhesive layer outside the core layer. The core layer is formed of a combination of a conforming layer of a thermoplastic material, a marking layer of a cross-linked material, and a fibrous layer. The conforming layer and the marking layer are contiguous and/or directly interconnected with each other. The marking tape is preferably relatively light weight and relatively inexpensive.

Disclosed herein are methods and systems for detecting dynamic objects using road painted patterns perceptible in infrared spectral range, comprising receiving images captured in one or more infrared spectral ranges depicting a road segment painted with background patterns which are highly imperceptible in visible light spectrum while highly visible in one or more infrared spectral ranges, analyzing the images to detecting one or more dynamic objects located in front of the background patterns. The light reflected by the one or more dynamic objects in the one or more infrared spectral ranges deviating from the light reflected by the one or more background pattern and computing a location of the one or more identified objects. Further disclosed are methods and systems for calibration of systems and/or sensors based on reference markings which are highly imperceptible in visible light spectrum while highly visible in the infrared spectral range(s).

Roadway Surface Compositions and Pelletized Binder Materials Thereof

A composition for applying onto a road surface and methods for making thereof is disclosed. The composition comprises a binder material of at least a styrenic block copolymer and a resin, which can be pelletized.
