SAFETY GATE
Apparatus and methods for assembling, installing, and operating a manually operated gate (e.g., a safety gate) are provided. The manually operated safety gate can include a gate frame and a spring assembly. The gate frame can include a proximal upright member, a distal upright member, an upper arm, and a lower arm. The proximal upright member can be anchored to a stationary surface. The upper arm and lower arm can be pivotably coupled to the proximal upright member and distal upright member to form a parallelogram. The manually operated gate can be configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position at a constant angular velocity. The gate can freely pivot to the closed position from a self-close position. A kit can contain the required structural components and instructions and can be used to assemble the manually operated gate assembly.

Gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway
A gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway (e.g. a highway). The gate comprises an arm movable between an extended position in which the arm extends into a given portion of the roadway to inform the oncoming traffic that the given portion of the roadway is closed and a retracted position in which the arm does not extend into the given portion of the roadway and thus leaves open the given portion of the roadway for the oncoming traffic. The gate also comprises a control system comprising an actuator and configured to support the arm and move the arm between the extended position and the retracted position. The arm may be quite long and vertically wide to close more of the roadway and be clearly visible to the oncoming traffic, while the gate may be crash-tested (i.e., compliant with crash-testing criteria), the control system may be compact, and the gate may be reusable and easily repairable if crashed into.
Gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway
A gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway (e.g. a highway). Remote control of traffic gates
Systems and methods are disclosed including a system that can include a traffic gate, an electronic circuit and a portable controller. The traffic gate can have an arm. The electronic circuit can have a controller, a first communication module, and one or more light sources configured to mount to the arm or other portions of the traffic gate. The controller can be configured to control the electronic circuit to selectively operate the one or light sources as desired. The portable controller can have a second communication module configured to communicate with the first communication module to actuate the controller to control of the electronic circuit.
Vehicle barrier gate system
Vehicle barrier systems that can selectively move a barrier arm between a first position that prevents a vehicle from passing, or a second position that allows the vehicle to pass, wherein the barrier arm moves both upwardly away from a travel path and laterally along the travel path in a direction away from the vehicle. The barrier arm movement thereby leads the driver of the vehicle through the barrier system in a sweeping or leading movement. In some embodiments, an actuator assembly of the barrier system includes a breakaway assembly coupled to the barrier arm. In the event that an abnormal force (e.g. vehicle strike, vandalism, etc.) applied to the barrier arm exceeds a predetermined threshold, one or more drive magnets of the breakaway assembly disengage from the one or more magnetically-attractive elements to prevent damage to the barrier system.

Vehicle barrier systems that can selectively move a barrier arm between a first position that prevents a vehicle from passing, or a second position that allows the vehicle to pass, wherein the barrier arm moves both upwardly away from a travel path and laterally along the travel path in a direction away from the vehicle. A latch mechanism for a gate has a main support, first and second retention members, and a rotatable latch. The retention members each have a respective key aperture and the respective first and second apertures are spaced along the main support and separated by a gap. The rotatable latch includes a latch portion, one or more key portions which extend through either or both of the first key aperture and second key aperture, and is rotatable about an axis of rotation between a receiving position in which the gate is moveable between an open position and a closed position, or vice versa, and a latched position in which the gate is restrained in the closed position by the latch portion and where the one or more key portions engage with either or both of the first and second retention members to prevent withdrawal of the rotatable latch.

A latch mechanism for a gate has a main support, first and second retention members, and a rotatable latch. The retention members each have a respective key aperture and the respective first and second apertures are spaced along the main support and separated by a gap. The rotatable latch includes a latch portion, one or more key portions which extend through either or both of the first key aperture and second key aperture, and is rotatable about an axis of rotation between a receiving position in which the gate is moveable between an open position and a closed position, or vice versa, and a latched position in which the gate is restrained in the closed position by the latch portion and where the one or more key portions engage with either or both of the first and second retention members to prevent withdrawal of the rotatable latch.

A vehicle gate assembly includes a first post and a latch post comprising a J-slot formed along a face of the latch post, the J-slot comprising a primary vertical slot extending from an open top end of the primary vertical slot at a top side of the latch post to a bottom end of the primary vertical slot, a horizontal slot extending from the bottom end toward the first post, and the horizontal slot comprising a trap extending toward the top side of the latch post and a beam movable between an open position to allow vehicles to drive through a vehicle passage and a closed position blocking the vehicle passage, and a pin extending from the beam, the pin disposed in the J-slot when the beam is in the closed position.
