FLEXIBLE WING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Disclosed is a wing apparatus for snow removal to remove snow and ice debris from an ice rink area delimited by boards without damaging the boards. The wing apparatus includes a first end configured for attaching the wing to the snow removal machine; a second end having at least one bearing roller for rolling on the boards; and a portion there between for receiving and directing the snow and ice debris towards the snow removal machine. Several mechanisms are disclosed to adapt the wing to be flexible to different operating ranges from the boards without damaging the boards.
Pull behind ice resurfacing machine and method of use
A pull-behind device to resurface an ice rink. The device includes a rotating brush to sweep the ice anterior to a blade used to the scrape the ice. Collected snow is moved into a water reservoir where it is stored and melted for redeposit onto the skating surface.
Self-driven ice resurfacing machine and method for use
A self-driven device to resurface an ice rink. The device includes a rotating brush to sweep the ice anterior to a blade used to the scrape the ice. Collected snow is moved into a hot water tank where it is melted and moved to a warm water tank for redeposit onto the skating surface.
ICE EDGER BRUSH APPARATUS
An ice edger brush apparatus is capable of attachment to a lever arm assembly of a common ice resurfacing vehicle for use in edging the entirety of an ice rink surface, particularly the perimeter areas closest to the rink's boards, immediately prior to resurfacing the ice rink either before, during, or after an event, game, or occasion. The present invention allows for significantly faster and more complete edging, sweeping, and resurfacing of an ice surface, specifically a rink, as well as proper ice level and board protection through the novel combination of blades, brushes, protective guards, support members, and other components identifiable within the ice edger brush apparatus, all of which may be fitted to an existing extendable lever arm of an ordinary resurfacing vehicle such that an operator may retain control of the overall attributes of the present invention both prior to and throughout operational use.
Systems, Methods and Devices for Water and Energy Savings During Ice Resurfacing
Systems, methods and devices for converting existing ice resurfacers to reuse collected ice and snow for further ice resurfacing. The systems, methods and devices allows for efficient, clean and environmental friendly ice resurfacing. The conversion includes the modification and/or replacement of the snow dump tank, main water tank and the installing of heating and power systems. This invention is designed for present machines and for incorporation into future manufacturing of ice resurfacers. While reducing the requirement for large amounts of fresh water, the surface water being pre-heated by two commercial hot water tanks, it also reduces the amount of labour and costs associated with ice resurfacing.
Portable ice rink sprinkler
A movable apparatus for creating an outdoor ice rink and a method of using it comprising a spray head configured to apply a water spray from a height sufficient to maintain a stable vertical spray head orientation and periodically repositioning it until a desired ice rink s formed.
Ice leveling system
An ice leveling system involves a laser receiver mountable on an ice conditioning head of an ice resurfacing machine below a top-most portion of the ice resurfacing machine and at least two laser projectors that project laser light in a plane below a level of the top-most portion of the ice resurfacing machine. The at least two laser projectors are mountable adjacent to an ice surface and are positionable around the ice surface so that the laser receiver when mounted on the ice resurfacing machine always receives the laser light from at least one of the at least two laser projectors during an ice leveling operation. At least one of the at least two laser projectors is height adjustable to align the laser light plane projected by the height adjustable laser projector with the laser light plane of others of the at least two laser projectors.
COMPOSITE BLADE
The blade comprises: a body portion; and an edge portion, the edge portion defining an edge of the blade and being secured adhesively to the body part. The body portion can be defined by a relatively low density material and the edge portion can be defined by a relatively high density material. The body portion and edge portion can each be defined by a respective metal, the metals of the body portion and edge portion being dissimilar. The adhesive can be a two-part methacrylate structural adhesive. The body portion can be 6061 aluminum and the edge portion can be 440C stainless.
