Oil and gas well and field integrity protection system

The present invention relates in general to a system to protect and monitor production and non-production oil and gas wells. The present invention provides an oil or gas well and field integrity system for a well which passes through at least one subterranean formation containing pressurized formation fluids. The system comprising at least one oil or gas well located within a designated oil or gas field; and at least one bund wall formed within a target zone of the at least one subterranean formation, each bund extending along at least a portion of a perimeter surrounding the oil or gas field or along at least a portion of a section surrounding one or more oil or gas wells within the oil or gas field to assist in maintaining hydrostatic pressure on at least one side of the bund wall within the target zone thereby reducing the possibility of subsidence within the oil or gas field.

An apparatus for reinforcing an upstanding utility/meter pole having a worn top includes an elongated brace adapted to bear against the pole near a top end of the pole. A washer plate is disposed in overlying relation to the elongated brace. A front support is secured to an opposite side of the pole by an elongated bolt that extends diametrically through the pole and is engaged by a nut to secure the brace and front support in sandwiching relation to the pole. Additional embodiments are designed to reinforce cross arms secured to the utility pole.

Continuity Connection System for Restorative Shell

A continuity connection system is disclosed that is highly durable, simple to install, and substantially increases the structural capabilities and weight-bearing capacity of a shell (i.e., a form or jacket). The shell can be used to protect a weight-bearing member (e.g., a cement column) from a degrading environment. The shell can have one or several layers of carbon fiber fabric (e.g., spaced apart longitudinally) wrapped around an interior of the shell or embedded within the shell. The continuity connection system is used to provide continuity between two ends of the carbon fiber layer, and can be made up of the carbon fiber fabric reinforcement layer, two pockets, and a laminate having ends positioned in each pocket. The carbon fiber laminate traverses a seam/separation of the carbon fiber fabric and/or a seam of the shell and can be retained in place within the pockets with an appropriate epoxy, for example.

A pile for being driven into soil includes a shaft and a frost sleeve (upheaval resistant sleeve) surrounding the shaft. The frost sleeve (upheaval resistant sleeve) is located on the shaft between a top of the soil and a frost line. The pile further includes a grout disruption (separation) plate. The grout disruption (separation) plate is located at the frost line.

Pole Shield
20170101801 · 2017-04-13 ·

The present disclosure relates to a pole shield for extending around a pole structure. The pole shield comprises a sheet of composite material forming a hollow structure having an open first end and an opposed open second end. The sheet of composite material comprises from about 0% to about 80% by weight of a reinforcement impregnated with about 20% to about 50% of a polyurethane resin composition comprising a combination of a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component. Two or more pole shields may be stacked one on top of the other to form a pole shield structure which extends the height of protection of the pole structure. The pole shield can be used for protecting a pole structure from damage, such as from fire, rain, wind, sand, ice, pests, moisture or electrical. The pole shield may also be used to provide structural support to a pole structure.

The present invention includes a prosthetic apparatus for reinforcing a top of a rotted/deteriorated upstanding pole. The prosthetic ensleeves or sandwiches the pole at its uppermost end to provide an elongate support on which insulators and other various equipment can be safely secured. The present invention may include diametrically opposed support stringers to increase support and rigidity. An embodiment may include pole access apertures, insulator cutouts, and bolt receiving channels. The present invention provides a simplistic and inexpensive fix to preexisting rotting utility poles while also enabling a safe and efficient installation.

SELF-MAINTAINING AND ANTI-SCOURING DEVICE FOR OFFSHORE WIND POWER PILE FOUNDATION

A self-maintaining and anti-scouring device for an offshore wind power pile foundation is provided. The self-maintaining and anti-scouring device comprises: a plurality of fixing parts configured to be fixedly disposed on seabed; an installation part disposed above the plurality of fixing parts and configured for installing wind power equipment; and a sand-screening part, comprising a sand-screening ring and an impeller both of which are disposed below the installation part, wherein a seawater inlet, a stirring chamber and a sand outlet are disposed on the sand-screening ring in sequence from a top to a bottom of the sand-screening ring, and a seawater outlet is disposed on a side surface of the sand-screening ring to communicate to the stirring chamber, wherein the impeller is rotatably disposed in the stirring chamber. The impeller is horizontally rotated in the sand-screening ring to separate sand and seawater in the stirring chamber through a centrifugal force.

Fiber reinforced composite system for strengthening of wall-like RC columns and methods for preparing such system

A shape modification of a wall-like column includes the preparation of the column by chamfering the corners and roughening the sides of cement segments thereto. The process requires a simple formwork in the form of generally circular PVC pipe segments which are cut to required shapes which are arcuate such as the segments of a circle, oval or even elliptical. After those forms formed from the PVC pipe affixed around the reinforced concrete column are then filled with grout/cement. A plurality of vertical steel strips are attached to the column by steel rod-like shear studs that extend through previously drilled passageways passing through the reinforced concrete column and segments. The reinforced concrete column is then strengthened by increasing the area of cross section and more importantly by confining the column and attached segments by FRP materials. In addition, the vertical strips with steel studs contribute to the column strengthening.
