Composition comprising plant extract and use thereof
Provided is a composition comprising a plant extract. The plant extract includes a citrus extract and a green tea extract. The extract combination can effectively increase expression of GLUT4 gene.
System and method for cold storage and hot or cold delivery of a brewed beverage
A delivery system and method for a brewed beverage, such as coffee or tea, that stores a batch of brewed beverage in a cooled container, and heats a serving quantity on demand at the point of dispensing. A heater such as a tankless water heater may be connected to a dispensing line to generate hot servings on demand. Cold servings may also be provided. Quality control of the brewing process may be improved by brewing in a centralized, controlled environment and then shipping cooled containers to dispensing points such as coffee shops or cafs. Containers may be filled with a gas such as nitrogen to prevent oxidation, thereby preserving freshness during storage or shipping. At the dispensing site, containers may be refrigerated and attached to gas tanks to maintain the freshness as servings are dispensed.

Method for regulating expression of PDGFC, FGF2, IGF1R, PTGIS, NOS3, EDN1, PLAT, PROC, VWF, F3, SERPINE1, IL-8, ICAM1, VCAM1, and CASP8 genes
The present disclosure provides a method for regulating expression of PDGFC, FGF2, IGF1R, PTGIS, NOS3, EDN1, PLAT, PROC, VWF, F3, SERPINE1, IL-8, ICAM1, VCAM1, and CASP8 genes, including administering to a subject in need thereof a composition including an effective amount of a plant extract, wherein the plant extract includes at least one combination selected from the group consisting of a grape seed extract and a Four seasons spring tea extract, a black tea extract and a spinach extract, the grape seed extract and the spinach extract, the grape seed extract and a green coffee bean extract, a red wine extract and a Pu-erh tea extract, and the grape seed extract and the Pu-erh tea extract.
Method of enhancing the gene expression level of TGM1, KRT, AQP3, FLG, GBA, and HAS using plant extracts
The present invention provides a method of a composition containing plant extracts for enhancing the gene expression level of TGM1, KRT, AQP3, FLG, GBA, and HAS. Compared to a single plant extract, the combination of the plant extracts of the present invention can more effectively enhance the expression level of skin moisturizing genes. The plant extracts constituting the composition include: an extract of spinach, blueberry, Pu-erh tea, or Four Seasons Spring tea.
Fermentation systems and methods in kombucha manufacture
An apparatus used to ferment a liquid during kombucha manufacture includes a bonnet. The bonnet is configured to cover an opening of a container. The container defines a volume to hold the liquid. The container has a lip that defines the opening. The bonnet further includes a filter. The filter is permeable to a gas and has a pore size. The bonnet includes an elastic member. The elastic member is coupled to the filter. The elastic member is elastically engageable with the lip such that when the bonnet is attached to the container the bonnet covers the opening and the elastic member is removably sealable to the lip. When the bonnet is engaged with the lip, a gas can pass through the filter and particles larger than the pore size are kept out of the liquid by the filter during fermentation of the liquid, thereby preventing contamination of the liquid.
