Bio-inspired deep foundation pile and anchorage system

An expanding anchor and/or pile system wherein an outer shell of the pile/anchor is split lengthwise into at least two pieces and can be placed or driven into a hole in the earth in a retracted state and can subsequently be expanded such that the two or more pieces are forced outwardly—away from one another, thus causing them to exert a lateral force against the sides of the hole and thereby resulting in greater axial load carrying capacity in tension or compression of the anchor/pile.

A tensionless concrete pier foundation for supporting a tower and a method of constructing the same is provided, the foundation having an outer CMP and an inner CMP with an annular space therebetween in which a plurality of sleeved tower anchor bolts are embedded, at least the outer CMP having an upper edge that is flush with the top of the foundation after the tower has been installed. A method of plumbing a tower anchor bolt cage using a bolt alignment ring is also provided that includes coupling the upper ends of the CMPs together with lateral spacing bolts that extend across the annular space. The tower anchor bolt cage is suspended from the lateral spacing bolts by the bolt alignment ring, and the lateral spacing bolts are shimmed on a low side as necessary for leveling the alignment ring and plumbing the bolt cage, before concrete pour.

METHOD OF BUILDING A FOUNDATION COMPRISING A STEEL MONOPILE AND A CONCRETE PART AND ASSOCIATED FOUNDATION FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK

The invention relates to a method of building a foundation (1) comprising a steel monopile (2) and a precast concrete part (3) on top of the monopile (2), comprising:—arranging a support structure (12) inside the monopile (2), the support structure (12) having a plurality of rods (16) extending radially with respect to a longitudinal axis of the monopile;—bringing the concrete part (3) above the monopile (2), with supporting columns (13) interposed between the support structure (12) and the concrete part (3), wherein reinforcement bars (14) protruding from a bottom surface (9) of the precast concrete part (3) extend downwardly beyond the support structure (12) by passing between the rods (16) of the support structure (12);—arranging tendons (15) between the support structure (12) and the concrete part (3) and tensioning the tendons (15); and—pouring concrete into an upper part of the monopile (2).

Steel pipe coupling device for steel pipes

A coupling device includes male and female couplings having first and second circumferential grooves on surfaces of the respective couplings that face each other when the couplings are fitted together. The coupling device further includes an engaging member. When the male coupling is pushed into the female coupling, the engaging member is retracted into the second groove, allowing the male coupling to be inserted into the female coupling, and when the couplings are fitted together, the engaging member is pushed into the first groove by coil springs so as to be fitted into both of the groove, thereby preventing separation of the male and female couplings in the axial direction. Countersunk head screws support respective divided pieces of the engaging member. Slotted head setscrews are screwed in at boundaries between the adjacent divided pieces to press the divided pieces against the bottom of the first groove.

FOUNDATION PIER SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170314225 · 2017-11-02 ·

A concentrically loaded foundation pier system which includes several concentrically stacked steel pipes filled with concrete. The entire pier is installed centrally beneath the footing of the structure. Shims are placed between the top-most pier element and a pier cap which prevents shifting when the soil expands and contracts. The final structure is end-loaded and pressed to the bedrock or other load-bearing strata. An alternative embodiment includes a temporary lifting assembly which can be fastened about the structural pier without need for bolts or other fasteners.

Cover band of steel pipe strut connector, steel pipe strut connector having same, and steel pipe strut assembly

A cover band has a cover band body provided with a cover band arch portion corresponding to the outer peripheral surface of a steel pipe strut and a plurality of cover band through holes formed on the cover band body in such a manner as to correspond to a plurality of strut coupling holes. The cover band through holes have shapes of long holes extended in one direction and the extended direction of at least one of the cover band through holes is made to cross the extended direction of the other cover band through hole.

PANEL PRODUCTION KITS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS

A method of forming a concrete panel that includes forming a concrete base with a plurality of holes, where the plurality of holes are distributed proximate to a perimeter of a casting surface of the concrete base, and securing casting rails along the casting surface of the concrete base to form a concrete panel form with a closed perimeter. The casting rails are secured using a plurality of anchors through the plurality of holes in the concrete base to couple the casting rails to the concrete base. A reinforcement device and/or an attachment device is introduced within the concrete panel form, and concrete is poured into the concrete panel form. After the poured concrete has solidified into a concrete panel, the concrete panel is removed.

Passive Grout Seal
20170241095 · 2017-08-24 ·

A passive annular grout seal assembly is disclosed for sealing an annular opening between a driven pile and a skirt pile sleeve for an offshore platform. The annular seals are located at the bottom of the pile sleeves near sea floor and automatically activated when piles are inserted and driven through the pile sleeves without any active operational procedure during offshore piling. The seal configuration fully utilizes the seal height, the grout column height and the density difference between grout and sea water to produce enhanced sealing capacity against the column of grout above.

STEEL PIPE PILES AND PIPE PILE STRUCTURES

A pipe pile, for use in a foundation or a retaining wall, comprises a substantially cylindrical, and preferably steel, pipe body extending longitudinally between two opposite ends, the pipe body being formed of a plurality of pipe sections, interlocked or welded together end-to-end and arranged on a common central longitudinal axis between the two ends. All of the pipe sections have substantially the same outside diameter; however, two or more pipe sections have differing inside diameters, and thus a differing wall thickness, between the two ends of the pipe pile.
