Trenching Assembly
20170350093 · 2017-12-07 ·

A trenching assembly used to cut a narrow trench in the ground surface. The trenching assembly comprises an attachment frame connected to a hood assembly via a linkage assembly. The attachment frame may be attached to the rear end of a work machine. A rotatable blade is disposed within a cavity defined by the hood assembly. The hood assembly may rotate about two different axes relative to the linkage assembly, and the linkage assembly may rotate about two different axes relative to the attachment frame. The trenching assembly uses a pair of accumulators to hydraulically rotate the linkage assembly about a horizontal axis relative to the frame in response changes in depth of the ground surface being cut by the blade. The linkage assembly may be hydraulically rotated using the accumulators without input from the operator.

A plow assembly for forming a trench within soil of a selected land area. The plow assembly has a blade element, a displacement element, and an attachment element that permits attachment of the plow assembly to a vehicle, such as a tractor. A first end of the displacement element is secured to a distal end of the blade element, and a second end of the displacement element is spaced from a rear edge of the blade element and connected to a pipe. The displacement element has a variable diameter that increases moving from the first end of the displacement element to the second end of the displacement element. As the plow assembly is advanced within soil, the cutting edge of the blade element cuts through the soil and the displacement element displaces the soil to form the trench and pulls the pipe into the trench as the trench is formed.

An excavation bucket includes a bottom face part, a rear face part, a pair of opposing side wall parts, teeth, a bracket, and a target penetration depth display component. The target penetration depth display component is provided around the teeth and near an end of the side wall part that forms an edge of an opening, and displays the target penetration depth. A wrist radius is an imaginary line segment connecting a center of a first hole in the bracket and the distal end of the teeth in side view. The target penetration depth display component is provided to an inside of at least one of the pair of opposing side wall parts and at a position of the side wall part corresponding to a position that has moved along the imaginary line segment from the distal end of the teeth by a specific proportional length of the wrist radius.

VIBRATORY CABLE PLOW

A vibratory plow has a lift bracket. The lift bracket couples to an upper link by an upper spring having an upper energy absorptive member. The upper spring and upper energy absorptive member are configured to limit upper link movement relative to the lift bracket in a first direction. The lift bracket is coupled to the upper link by a lower spring having a lower energy absorptive member; the lower spring and lower energy absorptive member are configured to limit upper link movement relative to the lift bracket in a direction opposite the first direction. The upper link is coupled to a shaker box which is attached to a plow blade. The shaker box is configured to travel from a baseline position a first distance greater than two inches in the first direction before the upper spring compresses enough that the upper energy absorptive member dampens shaker box movement.
