FLUID DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING THE SAME
Fluid detection systems and methods using the same are disclosed. In embodiments the fluid detection systems include a sensor module and an electronics module. The sensor module includes a sensor housing that includes a liquid flow path and a sensor element disposed around at least part of the liquid flow path. The sensor element can detect a capacitance of the liquid flow path and provide a sensor signal to a controller in the electronics module. The electronics module can determine a detected capacitance in the liquid flow path based at least in part on the sensor signal, and can determine whether a wet event has occurred based on a comparison of the detected capacitance to a threshold capacitance. Methods using the fluid detection systems and fluid supply systems including the fluid detection systems are also disclosed.
Test cock with integrated extraction tool
A test cock is configured to connect to a test cock port. The test cock includes a body portion defining a flowpath between a distal end and a proximal end. The test cock includes an intake stem at the proximal end that has external threads to connect the test cock to the test cock port. The intake stem defines an intake opening connected to the flowpath, the intake opening having a non-circular shape, such as a hexagonal shape. The test cock also includes an extraction tool having an end forming the non-circular shape of the intake opening, the end being sized to fit within and engage the intake opening.
Remote-operated flushing system
Example aspects of a remote-operated flushing system and a method of operating a flushing system are disclosed. The remote-operated flushing system can comprise a fluid routing assembly comprising a valve, the valve configurable in an open configuration, wherein fluid is permitted to flow through the fluid routing assembly, and a closed configuration, wherein the fluid is prohibited from flowing through the fluid routing assembly; a control device configured to actuate the valve between the open configuration and closed configuration; a remote operation device wirelessly connected to the control device and configured to remotely operate the control device to control the actuation of the valve between the open configuration and closed configuration; and a sensor configured to detect a fluid property of the fluid within the fluid routing assembly, wherein the control device is configured to wirelessly send a signal representative of the fluid property detected by the sensor.
Check cover assemblies for backflow prevention assemblies with integrated test cock protection shroud
A check cover assembly for a backflow prevention (BFP) assembly including a dome-shaped base with an upstanding shroud, wherein the shroud forms an inner area configured to receive a test cock to support and protect the test cock. The shroud forms a gap for accessing the test cock to selectively open and close the test cock while installed in the inner area. The base forms a passageway from the inner area into the BFP assembly configured so that when the test cock is open, a pressure reading of a pressure zone in the BFP assembly can be taken via the test cock. A retention fork is in a slit formed in the shroud so that the test cock is captured in the inner area but the test cock can be removed from and inserted into the inner area without rotation when the retention fork is removed from the slit.
Power supply assembly for plumbing fixture
A power supply assembly and method for a plumbing fixture includes a control circuit that controls operation of the plumbing fixture, and a wireless power receiving circuit coupled to the control circuit that wirelessly receives energy and provides the energy to the control circuit.
A BACKFLOW PREVENTER, A HOSE COUPLING OF A HYDRANT AND A HYDRANT
A backflow preventer adapted for installation in an inner conduit of a hose coupling of a hydrant is disclosed. The backflow preventer contains a non-return device having a closing body, a seal seat, and a resetting device. The resetting device is adapted to resiliently pretension the closing body into sealing engagement against the seal seat.
CHECK COVER ASSEMBLIES FOR BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLIES WITH INTEGRATED TEST COCK PROTECTION SHROUD
A check cover assembly for a backflow prevention assembly having a body defining an interior housing a test cock. The check cover assembly includes a ball with a central aperture and a complementary groove in an outer circumference of the ball as well as a base including a shroud portion housing the ball to create a ball valve. The shroud portion defines an access gap for accessing an actuation feature slot with a landkey of the ball valve and a threaded opening. A coupling is attached to the threaded opening in fluid communication with the interior for connecting to testing equipment. The actuation feature is used to open and close the ball valve.
COMPACT VALVE ASSEMBLY
A backflow prevention assembly has a body having a first bucket with a sidewall extending between a closed end and an open end along a first bucket axis, a first conduit extending from an inlet of the sidewall of the first bucket, and a second bucket having a sidewall extending between a closed end and an open end along a second bucket axis. A second conduit extends between an outlet of the sidewall of the first bucket and an inlet of the sidewall of the second bucket, and a third conduit extends from an outlet of the sidewall of the second bucket. The conduits extend along a conduit axis that is perpendicular to the bucket axes. The valve assembly includes covers secured over the open ends of the buckets and a valve member located in each bucket that is biased to prevent reverse flow through the inlets of the buckets.
BACKFLOW BOX AND METHOD
A method of using a backflow box with a water-using appliance comprising providing a backflow box including a backflow preventer and drainage; installing the backflow box in a wall cavity of a building in an accessible and viewable location; coupling the backflow preventer of the backflow box to a water supply and the water-using appliance; coupling the drainage of the backflow box to drain line of the building; inhibiting backflow from the water-using appliance from flowing into the water supply backflow preventer; and draining backflow through the drainage of the backflow box to the drain line of the building.
Backflow prevention assembly with a linkage
A check valve for a backflow prevention assembly includes a linkage with a platform having a proximal end and a distal end and a first coupling member supported by the platform for engaging a bias assembly. A stop protrudes from the proximal end of the platform to engage a frame of the check valve for limiting travel of the platform. A branch depends from the proximal end of the platform, the branch having a hinge pin configured to nest in a slot defined by check valve. A second coupling member depends from the distal end of the platform for engaging a valve member.
