Backflow prevention device
A backflow prevention device includes a piston received in a device passage between an inlet port and outlet port. A relief port can fluidly communicate with a middle segment of the device passage. The piston is movable between a normal flow position in which the piston blocks fluid communication between the relief port and the middle segment of the device passage and a backflow position in which the piston allows fluid communication between the relief port and the middle segment of the device passage. The piston can move to the normal position in response to normal flow through the device passage from the inlet port toward the outlet port and configured to move to the backflow position in response to greater pressure in the middle segment than in the inlet port.
REVERSIBLE SPRING RETENTION ASSEMBLY FOR A VALVE
A valve assembly with a spring retention assembly including an elongated cylinder portion having an open threaded end and a closed end and an elongated piston portion having a free end and a threaded tab end configured to thread through the open threaded end and, thereby, be slideably captured in the cylinder portion. A spring couples to the body portion and the piston portion to provide a force to urge the body portion and the piston away from one another, wherein the closed end and the free end are similarly shaped so that the spring retention assembly can be reversibly mounted to a valve member that can also be reversibly mounted.
Wireless communication system within a mechanical room
A wireless communication system includes a plurality of sensors and a device. Each sensor is configured to measure data and communicate over a network using low power signal communication. The device is connected to an in-wall power source and configured to wirelessly communicate over the network using low power signal communication. Further, the device is configured to transmit data from the sensors to a remote gateway using high power signal communication.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING BACKFLOW PREVENTER CONDITION
A backflow preventer including a body having an inlet for connection to an upstream portion of a plumbing system and an outlet for connection to a downstream portion of the plumbing system, a first check valve and a second check valve located in the body for preventing the reverse flow of water between the outlet and the inlet. An inlet pressure zone is positioned between the inlet and the first check valve, an outlet pressure zone is positioned between the outlet and the second check valve, and an intermediate pressure zone is positioned between the first and the second check valves. Position sensors sense the positions of the check valves, and pressure sensors sense the pressures in the zone. A controller in communication with the position sensors and the pressure sensors calculates the opening and closing pressures of the check valves.
Backflow prevention system test cock with a fluid sensor
A test cock for determining an operating condition of a backflow prevention system includes a body portion having a distal end and a proximal end and a space defined within the body portion. A distal opening is provided on the body portion at the distal end and a proximal opening is provided on the body portion at the proximal end and the proximal opening is in fluid connection with the body portion space. A body portion fitting is disposed in the body portion and is providing a fluid connection with the body portion space. A fluid sensor is coupled to the body portion fitting and is in fluid connection with the body portion space. A rotating system fitting has a first end and a second end where the second end is provided in the body portion proximal opening.
BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLY HAVING A CARTRIDGE WITH DUAL ZONE TESTING
A backflow prevention assembly includes a body forming two buckets, wherein flow passes through the body from an inlet to an outlet along an axis and consecutively through each of the buckets. A single zone test cover encloses a first of the buckets to form a single zone chamber. A dual zone test cover encloses a second of the buckets with a dual zone cartridge assembly therein. The dual zone test cover has two test cocks. The dual zone cartridge assembly includes a frame having a valve seat, wherein the frame includes a lumen providing fluid communication from a dual zone chamber upstream of the valve seat to a first of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover, and wherein the second of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover is in fluid communication with the dual zone chamber downstream of the valve seat.
Apparatus for dispensing a liquid from a liquid storage container
A removable liquid transport assembly configured to be readily installed in and removed from a liquid dispenser to permit the liquid dispenser to be readily sanitized. The removable liquid transport assembly preferably includes a liquid manifold, a valve assembly and a pump head. The removable liquid transport assembly is configured such that liquid can flow in a first direction through the removable liquid transport assembly to permit a liquid to be dispensed from a liquid dispenser and liquid can flow in a second direction back to a liquid storage container to prevent damage to one or more components of the liquid dispenser.
Backflow preventer and system separator especially for fire-fighting applications
There is provided a system separator having a backflow preventer including a housing enclosing a main flow conduit, a valve seat inside the housing on the main flow conduit, and a valve body movable relative to the valve seat to close off the main flow conduit together with the valve seat in a closed position and to release the main flow conduit in an open position. The valve body is alternately movable between the closed position and the open position by at least one of a pressure difference in the main flow conduit or a force of a spring element, and the main flow conduit is divided in the area of the valve body into at least one outer flow conduit and one inner flow conduit, and the valve body encloses the inner flow conduit and forms at least one valve-body valve seat on the inner flow conduit.
