Accelerated drain apparatus and method for walk-in bathtub
11085178 · 2021-08-10 · ·

An accelerated drain system for a walk-in bathtub with a water outlet in a side wall communicates water to a diverter valve biased to circulate the water in the bathtub and movable selectively to communicate water through a reverse check valve to a drain, the reverse check valve biased closed to prevent water flow and movable selectively to allow water flow to the drain, with a controller configured for moving the diverter valve selectively from the second position to the closed position for subsequent use of the walk-in bathtub. A method of rapid draining of a walk-in bathtub is disclosed.

ADJUSTABLE DRAIN ASSEMBLY

An adjustable drain assembly is disclosed. The adjustable drain assembly may have a main drain body with a series of springable flanges and extension calibration elements. Other components of the adjustable drain assembly may provide fluid conduits from various drains, such as of a bath tub, and may connect to the main drain body. These other components may be insertable into the springable flanges and may have extension calibration elements interlockable with the extension calibration elements of the main body. A collet may be disposable about the springable flanges and configured to retain the extension calibration elements in fixed interlocking relation. In this manner, the other components may be adjustably positioned in lengthwise relation relative to the main drain body, then secured in position by the fixation of the extension calibration elements in fixed interlocking relation.

A drain installation assembly includes a drain body and a drain coupling. The drain coupling is configured to be inserted into a drain opening of a wash basin from a top side of the wash basin. The drain coupling comprises a first coupling end and a second coupling end, the second coupling end positioned opposite to the first coupling end. The drain coupling further includes a squeeze portion positioned between the first coupling end and the second coupling end, the squeeze portion formed of a flexible material. The drain body comprises a body flange extending radially away from the drain body. The squeeze portion is configured to deform, so as to define a squeeze bulge when the drain coupling is coupled to the drain body, the squeeze bulge having a diameter greater than a diameter of the drain opening of the wash basin.

Bathtub Installation Aide

A bathtub installation aide apparatus is described. The apparatus exhibits a box-shape, which is configured to act as a placeholder at a drain point. The apparatus is equipped with a drain trough, and facilitates in the creation of empty space around a tub drain during ultimate installation of a bathtub. The apparatus removes the need to use cardboard and/or dirt/sand in the molding and construction of the bathtub and foundation. A leak detector unit is present to alert when the presence of a leak is detected after a set period of time has elapsed. A sensor is configured to relay the presence of water to the leak detector unit. A bottom of the apparatus is equipped with tiers or steps to funnel water towards the drain, even in the event of a leak.

An apparatus and method for plumbing a conventional bathtub drain to a conventional shower drain. A wooden framework is used wherein a pipe is placed that has one end connected to a pre-existing bathtub drain and the other end connected to a shower stall drain. The framework requires a minimal height because the pipe is oval shaped, thus providing a large enough volume for fluid flow while limiting the height required for such a pipe.
