MODULAR RAIN GARDEN SYSTEM
The invention provides a modular rain garden system comprising a plurality of preformed channel sections 310 and two end panels 320. The channel section 310 and end panels 320 are configured to form a trough 300 when assembled to receive rainwater runoff. At least one end of the channel section has an engaging profile configured to engage with another channel section or one of the end panels. Divider panels 330 are provided to separate the trough into compartments, to provide additional strength or rigidity to the trough or to control or limit the flow of water between compartments. The side walls 312 of the channel sections, the end panel 320 and the divider panels 330 are corrugated by means of projections or grooves 313, 321 and 331 respectively to increase the strength and load-bearing capability of the components.
CONTROLLING A VACUUM VALVE IN A SEWAGE PIT
An example system includes a valve between a suction pipe extending into a sewage pit and a vacuum pipe connected to a sewer system. The vacuum pipe has vacuum pressure. The valve is controllable to open to allow content to flow from the sewage pit, through the suction pipe, and into the vacuum pipe. A sensor is configured to detect the vacuum pressure in the vacuum pipe. The valve is controllable to open for a duration that is based, at least in part, on the vacuum pressure in the vacuum pipe.
DETECTING VACUUM PRESURE AND ANOMALOUS CYLCING IN A VACUUM SEWER SYSTEM
An example apparatus is for use in a system that includes a sewage pit, a suction pipe in the sewage pit, and a valve between the suction pipe and a vacuum pipe that connects to a sewer system. The apparatus includes a controller configured to perform operations that include: detecting a vacuum pressure in the vacuum pipe, determining that the vacuum pressure in the vacuum pipe is below a predefined pressure, and preventing the valve from opening in response to determining that the vacuum pressure in the vacuum pipe is below the predefined pressure.
SPRING-LOADED FLOAT TREE AND FLOAT TREE ASSEMBLY
A float tree for suspending floats within a basin system includes a rod portion, a cap section, movably affixed to the rod portion, and a spring provided between the cap section and the rod section. The spring provides force against the rod portion and the cap section. A first and second cap can be included to seat the spring between the cap section and the rod portion within the float tree.
Stormwater collection, treatment, and aquifer replenishment installations and methods
A stormwater collection, treatment, and aquifer replenishment installation includes a stormwater drain for receiving surface stormwater, a dry well downwardly extending underground to an outlet proximate to a water table over an aquifer, a tank structure at least partially disposed underground and coupled with the stormwater drain and the dry well in stormwater communication, a stormwater treatment system enclosed within the tank structure between the stormwater drain and the dry well for converting surface stormwater into treated stormwater, the tank structure for conducting surface stormwater to the stormwater treatment system between the stormwater drain and the dry well, and the dry well for receiving and gravity feeding treated stormwater from stormwater treatment system to the outlet.
Stackable baffle drop shaft unit and method
A stackable baffle drop shaft unit and method provides a pre-cast body that has a peripheral wall extending thereabout and having a top edge and an opposing bottom edge, the peripheral wall has an exterior facing surface and an opposing interior facing surface, and the body defines a medial channel extending therethrough between the top edge and the bottom edge. A baffle is carried by, and extends inwardly from the interior facing surface and partially across the medial channel defined by the body, and the baffle is positioned between the top edge and the bottom edge. The top edge and the bottom edge of the pre-cast body each define a portion of a positionally securing engagement and alignment means for positional and vertical alignment and stacking of plural units on top of one another. Vertical stacking of plural bodies forms a medial channel extending therethrough.
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT CRATE ASSEMBLY WITH TAPERED COLUMNS
Stormwater management systems, methods, and apparatus for containing and filtering runoff may be provided. In one implementation, a stormwater management crate for managing stormwater runoff may be provided. The stormwater management crate may include a top plate having a first plurality of support column attachments and one or more support column assemblies located below the top plate; the one or more support column assemblies being affixed to the top plate at the support column attachments. The stormwater management crate may further include an intermediate plate may be located below the top plate and above the bottom plate. The intermediate plate may have a third plurality of support column attachments. The intermediate plate may be lightweight and may weigh less than one or both of the top plate and the bottom plate.
Regional rainwater allocation method
An engineering system for collecting and utilizing regional rainwater includes a rainwater collection system, a water quality treatment system, and a control and allocation system. The rainwater collection system includes a rainwater collection ditch for a hardened underlying surface, a barrier and a water storage tank. The water quality treatment system includes a filter system. The control and allocation system includes a water quality monitoring device, a water level monitor, a control gate and a water pump. The filter system is connected to the underlying surface through the rainwater collection ditch, and the filter system is connected to the water storage tank. The control gate is disposed between the filter system and the water storage tank. The water quality monitoring device and the water level monitor are disposed within the water storage tank. The water pump is used to drain water from the water storage tank.
Storm water drain system and components thereof and methods of use
A method of removing sediment from fluid flow within a storm water drain pit by deflecting flow entering the pit towards the side walls of the pit by one or more deflectors. This reduces the energy of the fluid flow and promotes settling of sediment within the catch pit. Each deflector is preferably of a concave form and may be located in a storm water drain pit bag or suspended. A removable catch basin receptacle for a storm water drain pit includes a container has a low flow outlet defining a fluid path for fluid at a first level within the container to a second level, higher than the first level, outside the container. An overflow path provides a fluid flow path out of the container at a level higher than the first or second level.
Bioretentional System and Method of Construction Thereof
A bioretention system includes a number of connected wall portions defining an enclosure. Each wall portion includes a pair of spaced supports that support one or more panels that are interlocked with the pair of supports via mating interlocking features. Where a wall portion includes an upper panel atop of a lower panel, a lower edge of the upper panel and a top edge of the lower panel are in contact with each other to form the wall portion. The supports are then connected in spaced relation on the transverse axis by internal bars or beams which provide support for the wall portions without the need for external soil reinforcement.
