Batten bar assembly
10119289 · 2018-11-06 · ·

A batten bar is configured to secure first and second adjacent flat panels to a structural framework. The batten bar includes first and second inside legs, first and second outside legs, and a plurality of apertures disposed along the length of the batten bar. The first and second inside legs define a central channel. The first outside leg and the first inside leg define a first seal recess configured to receive and retain a first seal. The second outside leg and the second inside leg define a second seal recess configured to receive and retain a second seal. In an installed configuration, the first inside leg and the first outside leg are configured to contact the first flat panel along a first common plane, and the second inside leg and second outside leg contact the second panel along a second common plane.

Foldable tubular element with one rigid degree of freedom

Foldable tubular construct/element with one rigid degree of freedom is of a tubular construction formed by a number of single layered annular units which are connected in sequence; each single layered annular unit is of a prism having N ridge lines; two adjacent prisms each having N sides are connected to each other by sharing a polygon with N sides formed on an intersection plane; each prism with N ridge lines is composed of N rigid planar quadrilateral facets; two adjacent single layered annular units comprise N spherical mechanisms formed by the intersections of only four planar quadrilateral facets at each apex, where N is a number greater than 3.

Modular wall systems

A modular wall structure can include a first modular unit having a first face defined by a first perimeter and a second modular unit having a second face defined by a second perimeter. The first modular unit can be operably and selectively coupled to the second modular unit. Base units can be provided to support the first and second modular units.

Adjustable Height Desk with Acoustical Dome

The present invention is directed to a novel workstation which incorporates an acoustical dome for increased acoustic and visual privacy for the user. The workstation further is adjustable in height such that it is able to accommodate a range of users from the 5.sup.th percentile seated female to the 95.sup.th percentile standing male according to the dictates of ANSI/HFES100-2007 national ergonomic standard. The workstation is further designed to be in electrical and data communication with other workstations to optimize the workstation density in an open working environment without compromising user privacy.

Architectural building block system

An architectural building block system including a block having three side walls, each having an inside surface and an outside surface, the three side walls cooperate to form a triangular tube having three corners, the outside surface of each of the three side walls extending outwardly from the inner surface to the outer surface and the inside surface of each of the three walls is disposed substantially at right angle to each of the inner surface and the outer surface; and three channel pairs, each configured to receive a rebar, each channel pair including a first channel disposed on one of the three side walls on the inner surface and a second channel disposed on a corner of the three corners that is opposingly disposed from one of the three side walls.

Frameless temporary or emergency shelter

A foldable, frameless emergency shelter is constructed from a radial array of bendable yet rigid panels such as of a foamed plastic. Panels have adjoining edges with matching convexly curved profiles. The edges are always held to each other with a flexible fastener such as an adhesive tape. During erection, a flat panel inherently deforms into a curved cylindrical tapered shape enclosing a space. A door and an optional floor are provided. The shelter has a rigid conical cap including holes for guy ropes, a door and an optional window.

Adjustable height desk with acoustical dome

A novel workstation incorporating an acoustical dome for increased acoustic and visual privacy for the user. Preferred embodiments include an adjustable height workstation designed to be in electrical and data communication with other workstations, thus optimizing the workstation density in an open working environment without comprising user privacy.

Method for making a covering

A method for making a covering is described. The covering includes a first layer made of a flexible material; a second and a third layers made of a preferably rigid material engaged on opposite sides to the first layer. The second and the third layers respectively have a plurality of V-shaped grooves defining respective adjacent rigid and corresponding structural portions. Each rigid structural portion can be oriented with respect to the adjacent rigid structural portion, by folding the first layer so as to model the covering according to three-dimensional configurations and/or a simple or double curvature. The method is preferably performed through a virtual designing of the shape desired to be obtained and a processing of the same for the obtainment of the grooves required to attain such shape.

Archimedean cages, polyhedra, and nanotube structures and methods

A method for designing a structure includes selecting an initial cage, defining a secondary cage by positioning a plurality of tiles, reduced tiles, or larger patches obtained or derived from a selected one of the uniform Archimedean tilings over the faces of the initial cage, resizing edges of the secondary cage such the cage is equilateral, and planarizing the cage faces. In an embodiment the patch comprising a network of edges and vertices from a uniform tiling decorates the faces of a polyhedron to define a non-polyhedral cage that is transformed by planarizing the faces. In an embodiment the secondary cage comprises tiles derived from an Archimedean tiling that decorate faces of the initial cage comprising a polyhedron. In an embodiment the secondary cages resemble a nanotube.
