Perimeter structures for joining abutting enclosure components
An enclosure member for a building structure comprising a planar laminate having a first facing layer; a layer of foam having a first face and a second opposing face; and a second facing layer; where the first facing layer is fastened to the first face of the layer of foam, and the second facing layer is fastened to the second opposing face of the layer of foam. An edge of the enclosure is provided with a perimeter structure that can perform one or more of a sealing function, an edge reinforcement function and a pivotable joining function with another enclosure, in accordance with the particular embodiment.
Structural modular building connector
A connector assembly, having an upper connector coupled to a lower connector and a gusset plate sandwiched between the upper and lower connectors. Also, disclosed is a hoistable connector assembly, a lifting frame assembly, a coupling system for modular frame units, a method for assembling a module unit using the connector assembly, and a modular frame unit and building having the connector assembly.
Collapsible and portable modular deck system
A collapsible and portable deck system comprising: a) a collapsible support frame configured to support a deck base portion comprising a plurality of frame members coupled in a scissor structure and configured to be expanded from a collapsed position to an extended position, comprising i. a plurality of frame members, ii. a plurality of corner upright frame members; iii. a plurality of middle upright frame members; iv. a plurality of upper connector assemblies; and v. a plurality of lower connector assemblies; and b) a modular deck base portion, comprising i. at least two first deck support members, ii. a plurality of second deck support members, and iii. a plurality of interconnected deck boards.
Isolation method and apparatus
Apparatus for use in isolating a subject, the apparatus including a frame movable between collapsed and erected configurations, a body supported by the frame, wherein in the erected configuration, the body defines an internal volume for containing a subject to thereby substantially isolate the subject from a surrounding environment and a door actuator supported by the frame for moving a door between open and closed positions to thereby provide access to the internal volume.
Shape-morphing space frame apparatus using unit cell bistable elements
Unit cell bistable elements, and particular arrangements thereof, that can transform or morph a structure from one shape to another. In certain embodiments, the current invention includes unit cell bistable elements, and particular arrangements and uses thereof, that can transform or morph a structure from one shape to another. In an embodiment, the current invention provides a method/ability to transform any four-bar compliant mechanism into a bistable compliant mechanism. It is an object of the current invention to facilitate structures morphing from one specific shape to another specific shape using unit cell bistable elements.
Telescopic structural systems and construction method
A telescoping barrier assembly provides interlocking modules coupled together so as to slide vertically with respect to the other. The modules telescopically extend to a deployed position to form a barrier that withstands inertial and the external forces, and then retracts to a collapsed position. The modules include a base module and a plurality of deployable modules that are arranged in a nested configuration, such that each module slides in and out of an adjacent module. The base module has a mounting portion that may be subterranean. A lifting mechanism applies an axial force to the deployable modules to enable displacement between the operational and collapsed position. Spring biased lateral support members help the deployable modules remain in the extended position and a pulley system helps displace the modules to the collapsed position. An inner and outer seal inhibit liquid leakage between the module and between multiple adjacent assemblies.
CONTAINERS SHELTER
A containers shelter is formed from a base array of 20 ft containers, having a sheltered inner area therebetween, and, from a second floor of 40 ft containers that are connected to the base array of containers and cover entirely the sheltered inner area. The containers are filled with a filling material. The base array comprises an entrance container having an inner opening that is transversely directed to an outer opening.
DIGITAL FLEXURAL MATERIALS
Digital flexural materials are kits of discrete parts that can be assembled into a lattice structure to produce functionally useful assemblies. Digital flexural materials enable design of materials with many small and inexpensive flexures that combine in a lattice geometry that permits deformation without compromising the strength of the assembly. The number of types of parts in a kit is small compared to the total number of parts. A product constructed from digital flexural materials comprises a set of discrete units that are assembled into the structure according to a lattice geometry, with a majority of the units being reversibly connected to at least two other units in the set according to the lattice geometry, and wherein, in response to loading of the structure, a reversible deformation of at least part of the structure occurs. An automated process may be employed for constructing a product from digital flexural materials.
Fire Shelter
A fire shelter including: a foundation including a slab; an internal frame mounted on the slab; external cladding formed from heat resistant masonry panels supported by the internal frame, the external cladding including wall cladding including wall panels and defining a door opening and roof cladding including roof panels; and a door mounted in the door opening, the door including a door frame hingedly connected to the internal frame adjacent to the door opening and door cladding including door panels formed from heat resistant masonry panels supported by the door frame, wherein when the door is in a closed position, the door cladding closes the door opening.
STUDENT'S PROTECTION SCHOOL BOARD FROM EMERGENCIES
A student protection school board mainly comprises a main mobile outer frame of rectangular cross section which constitutes the front surface of the room, with shape of colored dye blackboard, a main fixed frame of rectangular cross section which constitutes the rear surface of the room, mounted on the wall of the classroom, two equally sized folding rectangular surfaces which constitute the side surfaces of the room, and two equally sized folding rectangular surfaces, reinforced with metal plates, which constitute the upper surface of the room.
