A prefabricated building module constructed at a central location and delivered to a construction site via shipping using the intermodal freight transport system and having cold formed wood bracing walls to resist forces in shear and uplift while providing a continuous load path to the foundation system. The module may include interior walls to section the module into rooms and further comprises mechanical, electrical, utility and plumbing aspects of a building, capable of inspection and certification prior to delivery to the construction site. Once arrived at the construction site the building module is anchored to the building foundation and the remainder of the house is built around the building module.

MODULAR BEAM STRUCTURE AND MODULAR BASE STRUCTURE

A building structure assembly includes standardized interlocking components sized to suit any particular size of building required and ISO standard shipping containers, including: at least one modular base structure, at least one modular beam structure, and at least one wall support in the form of a shipping container and a method of assembly of the building structure. Each modular beam and base structures a frame, interlocking with each other and a shipping container by corner castings with twist lock assemblies, arranged in a particular orientation with each other. The modular base structure is supported by the corner castings of a shipping container and the base structure supports an end portion of at least one modular beam structure. A modular beam structure spans shipping containers. The modular beam structures can function as roof trusses and are sized to be transported inside shipping containers.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING WALL ELEMENTS FOR BUILDINGS
20190136519 · 2019-05-09 · ·

A method of manufacturing wall elements for buildings, cross laminated timber panels of a specific width and length stocks in a store, and the panels are sawed up transversely to the longitudinal direction to obtain cross laminated timber panels of the same width and smaller length. A plurality of panels are placed onto a conveying track transversely to the direction of running, and indeed such that the panels are flush at the top and bottom and the side edges of consecutive panels contact one another. The panels on the conveying track are connected along the contacting longitudinal sides to form a cross laminated timber apron. The apron is sawed up transversely to the direction of running of the conveying track to obtain cross laminated timber boards of a defined width.

METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING A CONCRETE FLOOR IN A MULTISTOREY BUILDING
20190136507 · 2019-05-09 · ·

The invention provides a method of forming a concrete floor of a multistorey building, the method including: installing a first building module having a first precast concrete floor slab adjacently spaced from a second building module having a second precast concrete floor slab, at least the first precast concrete floor slab supporting an upstanding support member for supporting an upper floor; forming a channel between the spaced first and second precast concrete floor slabs by providing supporting formwork between the floor slabs for supporting poured concrete; and pouring concrete into the channel to form a concrete connection between the first and second precast slabs, thereby forming a concrete floor of a building.

HYBRID BUILDING SYSTEM, BUILDING AND METHOD

Hybrid buildings, hybrid building systems and methods of constructing hybrid buildings are disclosed. First and second building sections forming part of such buildings are also disclosed. One such hybrid residential building (1600) comprises a first building section (1610) and a second building section (1620). The first building section is an on-site construction at a final location for the building and comprises a lower storey (1611) defining an internal volume (1613) that provides a lower living space (1615) within the building, and an upper storey (1617) defining an internal volume (1619) that provides an upper living space (1621) within the building. The second building section defines an internal volume (1623) and is transportable to the final location in a substantially assembled form. The first and second building sections are connected at the final location to form the building. The second building section defines a circulation space (1649) for the building, access between the upper and lower living spaces of the first building section being provided via the circulation space.

HYBRID BUILDING SYSTEM, BUILDING AND METHOD

Hybrid buildings, hybrid building systems, methods of constructing hybrid buildings, and a method of ventilating such a building are disclosed. First and second building sections forming part of such buildings are also disclosed. One such hybrid residential building (1800) comprises a first building section (1810) and a second building section (1820). The first building section is an on-site construction at a final location for the building and defines an internal volume (1813) that provides a living space (1815) within the building. The second building section defines an internal volume (1823) and is transportable to the final location in a substantially assembled form. The first and second building sections are connected at the final location to form the building. The building comprises a ventilation system (1860) which is configured to supply external air into the building, and to withdraw internal air from the building and to discharge it to the building exterior, to thereby control ventilation of the building.

System and methods employing prefabricated volumetric construction modules including transforming truss elements

Disclosed herein is the fabrication and implementation of prefabricated volumetric construction modules that include transitioning members that adjust between vertical support columns and structural trusses via lateral joints. Modification of vertical support columns to trusses enables open space configurations in volumetric construction. Each volumetric module includes a habitation zone and a truss zone. Folding or transitioning a vertical support column at the lateral joint positions a lower region of the support column from the habitation zone into the truss zone. The vertical support columns are transitioned in a specified order where within a given row of vertical support columns. Beginning from a first interior column on an edge-positioned transforming volumetric module, workers fold half of the vertical support columns of the given row into the truss arrangement in a first direction toward the edge-positioned transforming volumetric module. Continuing from a second interior column on an opposite edge-positioned transforming volumetric module, a worker folds a remining half of the vertical support columns of the given row into the truss arrangement in a second direction toward the opposite edge-positioned transforming volumetric module.
