IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO BUILDING PANELS

There is disclosed a method of constructing a building, comprising installing: wall structure of the building, the wall structure comprising a panel having opposed skins and a core within which extends at least one cavity; and a ceiling structure of the building, such that the ceiling structure is adjacent the wall structure, and the wall structure bounds a space at a side of the space and the ceiling structure bounds the space at a top of the space, and such that: the space is sheltered and/or isolated from the elements; and/or lock-up is attained in respect of said space, the method further comprising: thereafter installing at least one service line through at least one said cavity of said panel and/or installing at least one service line which comprises at least one said cavity of that panel; and thereafter installing a roof structure of the building over the ceiling structure, wherein a connector is secured between the wall structure and the ceiling structure to form therebetween a connection which is such that the connector engages both the ceiling structure and at least one of the skins so as to direct, to the skin(s) engaged thereby, loading exerted by the ceiling structure, and wherein said at least one said cavity is accessed through said connector and/or through said ceiling structure, to install the service line(s).

A connection angle between the vertical surface and the outer side of the inclined surface forms an obtuse angle. The inclined surface is connected to the lower end surface. The fastener includes a fixed surface, two side surfaces and a bottom surface. The fixed surface, the two side surfaces and the bottom surface are hingedly connected.

In another embodiment of the fascia trim joint locking device, the device includes a planar base that is rectangular. In yet another embodiment, the device includes a planar base with an attaching latch. The planar walls include a pair of curved perimeter step-downs and taper downwardly to the opposing width and lengthwise ends of the planar base. At least one of the walls includes a pair of offset mounting apertures. The device can be secured around the bottom corner of fascia trim joint, a lateral fascia trim joint, and a ridge fascia trim joint to lock together the trim joint and prevent movement or separation.

The log wall panel is compressed by at least applying a downward force to the log wall panel along the upright direction while the log wall panel is in the drying kiln. The log wall panel is dried while the log wall panel is being compressed by the downward force.

TEMPORARY POOL COVER AND FLOOR SYSTEM

The innovation relates to a pool covering system that is usable as a flooring surface. The pool covering system includes brackets and support beams spanning the pool opening. The beams provide structural support to cross members and flooring placed on top of the beams. The pool covering system does not require significant drainage of the pool and does not damage the pool structure during installation and use.

Anchor Plate System for Reinforcing Masonry Walls

A system and method of retroactively reinforcing an exterior wall. A first anchor plate is provided having a central connection point and peripheral connection points. The center connection point is connected to an anchor tether. An opening is drilled through the exterior wall and at least some joists. The anchor tether is advanced through the drilled opening. Within the drilled opening, the anchor tether anchors to at least some of the joists. The first anchor plate is attached to the anchor tether and the anchor tether is tensioned. Secondary anchor plates can be also be attached to the exterior wall at different points. Lateral tethers are provided that interconnect the first anchor plate to the secondary anchor plates. The lateral tethers extend along the surface of the exterior wall at a perpendicular to the anchor tethers.
