Corner structure for studded walls
A building wall with an improved corner structure having a having a right-angled interior corner and an arcuate exterior corner, corner brackets used to construct the same, and a method of constructing the same. The pair of brackets include a first bracket that attaches to an upper end of both a first studded wall and a perpendicularly extending second studded wall, and a second bracket that attaches to a lower end of both the first studded wall and the second studded wall. When the first studded wall is joined to the second studded wall using the pair of brackets, an interior side of the corner joint includes two interior faces coming together at the right-angled corner, and an exterior side of the corner joint directly opposite the right-angled corner includes an arcuate exterior face.
Wall panel system
A wall system comprising a frame and one or more panels removably attached to the frame, wherein the one or more panels are positioned over one or more cutouts of the frame to form a substantially coplanar surface.
System, method and apparatus for substantially airtight area separation wall
An area separation wall (ASW) may include gypsum liner panels and structural elements located between adjacent ones of the gypsum liner panels. A sealing material may be located between the gypsum liner panels and the structural elements, and between adjacent ones of the structural elements. The sealing material may form seals therebetween, such that the ASW is substantially airtight when assembled. In addition, the ASW may include a fire rating of at least 2 hours in compliance with ANSI/UL 263.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FACING
A method for producing a facing includes at least one first panel and one second panel that are each delimited by a front face and a rear face connected by a lateral edge, the method including a) a first panel is fitted, b) a first part of a connector is fastened to the first panel such that a second part of the connector projects beyond said first panel, c) a second panel is fitted next to the first panel and fastened to the second part of the connector.
GYPSUM COMPOSITION COMPRISING UNCOOKED STARCH HAVING MID-RANGE VISCOSITY, AND METHODS AND PRODUCTS RELATED THERETO
Disclosed are product (e.g., board), slurry, and methods relating to an uncooked starch that can be used to enhance strength in one or more gypsum layers in the board. The uncooked starch has a hot water viscosity of from about 20 BU to about 300 BU according to the HWVA method, and/or a mid-range peak viscosity of from about 120 Brabender Units to about 1000 Brabender Units.
Wall channel for grid tee
An elongated sheet metal channel for transversely supporting drywall grid tees at regular intervals along the channel, the channel having a generally vertical web, and a lower flange and an upper flange, a vertical spacing between the flanges being sufficient to receive upright grid tees at the intervals, the lower flange having outer and mid-width portions lying in a generally horizontal plane at an interval when a tee is received therein, opposed formations stamped into one of the flanges at the intervals to longitudinally locate the grid tee, the upper flange at said intervals having a pocket for receiving a distorted end of a grid tee.
Apparatus and Method for Baseboard System Used in Drywall Construction
Described herein is a method for creating a reveal in a wall with the use of a drywall board and baseboard. A backing is secured to the back side of the drywall board or the baseboard, which is then affixed to studs on the wall. The other of the drywall board and the baseboard is also affixed to the studs so that there is an overlap with the backing. A reveal is thereby created that exposes the backing.
Composite gypsum board and related methods
Disclosed is a composite gypsum board comprising a board core comprising set gypsum sandwiched between face and back cover sheets. The composite gypsum board also comprises an intermediate sheet between the board core and the face cover sheet, with a thin, dense gypsum layer disposed between the intermediate sheet and the face cover sheet. Optionally, a second dense gypsum layer can be disposed between a first major side of the board core and the back cover sheet. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a composite gypsum board in which an intermediate sheet is applied over a dense gypsum layer disposed on a face cover sheet. A back cover sheet is applied to the other major side of the board core, with a second dense gypsum layer optionally disposed therebetween.
Hinging Drywall Apparatus and Method
Described herein is a drywall apparatus and method. The apparatus includes a finishing drywall liner, a framing drywall liner, a first gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner, and a second gypsum-containing segment between the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner. The first segment and the second segment are connected by a hinge formed from the finishing drywall liner and the framing drywall liner to allow an angle between the first segment and the second segment to vary.
