Transparent composite material as cladding material for architectural features in building construction
11345130 · 2022-05-31 · ·

A composite material may be used as a building material to provide desirable visible aesthetics, such as in a roof or facade. The composite material may include two or more materials, wherein a first material provides desirable qualities for appearance and a second material provides desirable qualities for strength or other characteristics desirable of a building material. Each of the first material and the second material may be transparent, such that the composite material is also transparent. The first material may be Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) and the second material may be Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Shelter and hub system

A shelter system is shown and described. A hub for a shelter system is shown and described. A frame for a shelter system is shown and described. In one embodiment, the shelter system includes a frame and cover. The shelter may include a hub system. The frame may be collapsible. The cover is configured to fit with the frame. The hub may include a receiver slot, a receiver sleeve and an attachment projection. The result is a shelter system with reduced set up time, effort and requirements and improved strength and ease of use. The inventions may also be considered a shelter kit and/or a shelter and hub method.

Geodesic Dome Accessories
20230313522 · 2023-10-05 ·

A geodesic dome accessory having an accessory frame that utilizes a base frame and an upper frame. The base frame is attached to the frame of the geodesic dome on interior to the frame. The upper frame attaches to the base frame and secures the membrane of the geodesic dome between the upper frame and the base frame, providing a weather resistant or tight seal. The base frame forms an opening to access from the exterior of the dome to the interior. The upper frame can be in a variety of configurations, including a window, door, vent passage, or stove pipe passage. The structural framing of the dome can remain with the base frame in the shape of the opening between frame elements, such as a window, or the framing can be removed with the accessory base frame forming the structural support replacing the standard framing, such as a door.

A strut connector is described. In particular, a strut connector for connecting at least two struts, the strut connector defining a periphery and comprising at least one first connecting means adjacent the periphery thereof configured to connect one or more of the struts for securing the struts to the strut connector at any point about the periphery. This provides increased flexibility to allow complex geodesic shapes to be constructed.

Laminate cell construction system

The present invention proposes a novel construction system consisting of the attachment of modified hyperboloid shaped-structural elements called laminate cells which, when working together, create a structural system with integrated cover having the capacity of absorbing and transmitting stresses in all directions and orientations.
