Acoustic systems for lighting in suspended ceilings
An acoustic housing, a light fixture, a suspended ceiling system, and a method of decreasing sound transfer from a light fixture in a suspended ceiling are disclosed. An acoustic hood for a light fixture in a suspended ceiling may include a partially enclosed space formed between a plurality of wall portions. A light fixture may include first and second layers that are coupled to one another and form a partially enclosed space. A suspended ceiling system may include the acoustic hood or light fixture. The method relates to disposing an acoustic housing spaced from the light fixture.
Acoustically transparent coating
A formulation for an acoustically transparent coating for use on an acoustical substrate comprising a water dispersible binder and relatively large filler particles, and characterized by a high pigment to volume concentration, high viscosity, high shear thinning, and fast drying to enable the formulation to be sprayed in droplets that retain their identity when in mutual contact.
Acoustic panels and methods for preparing them
The disclosure relates to acoustic panels and methods for preparing them. The disclosure relates more particularly to panels having a nonwoven facing and to methods for making such panels. A method for preparing an acoustic panel comprises providing a base structure. The base structure has one or more edges, an outward major surface having total area, and an inward major surface opposing the outward major surface. The base structure has a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of at least about 0.3. The method includes disposing directly against the outward major surface of the base structure a sprayable mixture comprising a plurality of fibers, one or more binders, and a dispersive medium. The method includes drying the disposed mixture to provide a facing layer disposed on the outward major surface of the base structure, the facing layer having an exterior major surface opposing the outward major surface of the base structure.
CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS WITH AN ACOUSTICALLY TRANSPARENT COATING
Provided is a ceiling tile coated on at least one surface with an acoustically transparent coating which creates pores at the tile surface and comprises a high Tg polymeric binder, titanium dioxide, and particles selected from the group consisting of void latex particles, hollow glass beads, calcium carbonate, calcium magnesium carbonate, calcined clay and any combination thereof. Compositions for acoustically transparent coatings and methods for making a substrate surface acoustically transparent are provided as well.
LINEAR SURFACE COVERING SYSTEM
The invention relates to a surface covering system, and, more specifically, to an improved linear surface covering system. The improvement includes each plank of the system having multi-directionally cut grooves. The improvement further includes clip projections which conform substantially to a notch formed by the multi-directional grooves. The system also includes an improved splice plate for stabilizing two adjacent planks positioned in end-to-end relation.
ACOUSTIC PANELS AND RELATED METHODS
Acoustic panels are disclosed herein. The acoustic panels can include a base, a plurality of sidewalls, a plurality of hinges, and a plurality of connection interfaces. The acoustic panels can include an unassembled configuration in which the acoustic panels are substantially planar or flat. Prior to installation, the acoustic panels can be transitioned to an assembled configuration by folding the sidewalls. The acoustic panels can be coupled to a building structure, such as a ceiling, wall, or suspension system.
OVERHEAD GRID ASSEMBLY, BRACKET MEMBER THEREOF, AND CEILING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
An overhead grid assembly for a suspended ceiling system and a bracket member thereof. The overhead grid assembly may include first and second support members having first and second longitudinal axes that are arranged in an intersecting manner to form a grid. The bracket member may include a first part having a first channel and a second part having a second channel. The bracket member is arranged to maintain the first and second support members in a desirable orientation relative to each other. Thus, a portion of the first support member may nest within the first channel and a portion of the second support member may nest within the second channel. The first and second parts of the bracket assembly may be rotatable relative to one another to ensure that the bracket assembly can be coupled to the first and second support members regardless of their relative orientation.
PANEL ASSEMBLY FOR A SUSPENDED CEILING SYSTEM, CORNER BRACKET THEREOF, AND RELATED METHODS
A panel assembly for a suspended ceiling system, an adjustable corner bracket thereof, and a method of assembling such a panel assembly. The panel assembly may include a ceiling panel having a groove in its rear surface, a plurality of suspension bars disposed within the groove along the sides thereof, and a plurality of corner brackets disposed within the groove along the corners thereof. The corner brackets may include a first arm portion extending along a first arm axis and a second arm portion extending along a second arm axis. The corner brackets may be adjustable to alter an angle measured between the first and second arm axes so that the corner brackets may be used in different grooves having different shapes.
CONFIGURABLE CEILING GRID LIGHTING ASSEMBLY WITH T-BAR MOUNTED LINEAR SUPPORT ELEMENTS
The present disclosure generally relates to lighting assemblies, and more specifically, to a configurable modular lighting assembly for use within a ceiling grid system. The lighting assembly is easy to install and delivers lighting distributions tailored to optimally illuminate the surface ceiling panels as well as floors, walls and work surfaces below. The configurable modular ceiling grid lighting assembly comprises both standard ceiling grid components such as T-Bar, ceiling panels and suspension cables as well as novel linear support elements with integrated or removable optical assemblies and covering elements. When installed the ceiling grid lighting assembly provided further comprises ceiling panels that are held in-line, above, below or tilted relative to the existing ceiling grid plane and as such provide both aesthetically pleasing features and useful lighting distributions. Further embodiments illustrate how both appearance and lighting distributions can be controlled by selectively applying electrical power to individual light source channels.
TILE SYSTEM FOR CEILING AND WALL
A tile comprises a main body having an exposed side and a concealed side. The exposed side defines a main surface and the concealed side defines a rear plane. Side surfaces between the exposed side and the concealed side of the main body have tongue-and-groove arrangements in the rear plane. The main body is made of at least one layer of acoustic felt defining at least one of the exposed side or the concealed side. The at least one layer of acoustic felt has a main plane of at least one compressed portion, with at least one embossed portion projecting from the main plane of the at least one compressed portion.
