One aspect of the disclosure is a linearly-extending support member for a ceiling tile. The support member has a cross-sectional shape that includes a substantially vertical central web with a top end and a bottom end; at least one flange extending substantially horizontally from the bottom end of the web, the flange having an upper surface and a lower surface; and a bulb extending from the top end of the web, the bulb having a first side and a second side with a cavity therebetween, the bulb having an upper portion and a lower portion adjacent the top end of the web, wherein the entire lower portion of the bulb is narrower than the upper portion of the bulb and wider than the central web, the bulb comprising a series of spaced apertures formed therein through both the first side and the second side of the bulb, each aperture being disposed at least partially in the lower portion of the bulb, each aperture having an upper portion and a lower portion, wherein the upper portion of the aperture is rounded.
ACOUSTIC CEILING BAFFLES AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
An acoustic ceiling baffle that includes a baffle body and one or more attachment mechanisms disposed on a top edge of the baffle body configured to couple and decouple from a runner of a ceiling suspension system. The attachment mechanisms include a recessed portion that receives the runner. The recessed portion includes a first section and a second section with an opening disposed between the first section and the second section. The first section is configured to engage with a face of the runner when the acoustic ceiling baffle is coupled to the runner. The attachment mechanism further includes a first retention member and a second retention member formed around the recessed portion, each retention member comprising a bottom edge that is configured to engage with a top surface of a face of the runner.
Suspended ceiling arrangements
A suspended ceiling arrangement for cleanroom applications includes an elongate support member and a ceiling member. The support member includes a base wall, a side wall, a flange part and a tab which together define a longitudinally extending support channel. The ceiling member includes a base wall, a side wall, a flange part and a lip part. The lip part defines a gap therein. In use, in an installed condition, the ceiling member flange part locates on top of the support member flange part, the lip part locates in the support channel and the tab locates in the gap.
Method and apparatus for suspending a package in an elevated position
One embodiment provides a method and apparatus for suspending air conditioning duct works from a support structure comprising unistrut type support beams which apparatus includes a plurality of support brackets arranged and configured for being slidably interlockable with the interior of the unistrut beam members. The support brackets can be slid inside the interior of the support beam until adjacent a support beam which support beam can be connected to the support bracket. In like manner additional support brackets can be inserted into the interior of the support beam members to be adjustably located next to their respective support rod. In such manner multiple support rods can be used to support a frame member even where the support rods are not symmetrically located along the length of the support beam as the support bracket can be slid/moved inside the support beam until lining up with its respective support rod. Additionally, the entire support framework can be moved relative to the plurality of support rods by sliding the framework relative to the support brackets. In such manner the location of the supporting frame member can be changed without moving the support rods.
SOUND ISOLATION ASSEMBLY
A sound isolation assembly comprising: a center ferrule; a top grommet isolator; a bottom grommet isolator; a spring; and a furring channel engagement portion. The sound isolation assembly is configured to engage with a structure and a furring channel, which itself is connected to a ceiling panel, such that the noise passing from one floor to the other is lessened as compared to a control system that does not use the sound isolation assembly. The spring may be steel and the grommet isolators may be rubber or the like, and the combination of the steel spring and grommet isolators reduces noise.
Bracket assembly for bracing two structures
A bracket assembly (2) for bracing a building component (3, 71) to a building structure (42), the assembly comprising a first connecting portion (4) having at least two protruding portions (6, 8) joined by a joining portion (10), each protruding portion (6, 8) connectable to a respective bracing element (44, 46) and a second connecting portion (12) having at least one depending portion (16, 18) and linked to said first connecting portion (4), said at least one depending portion (16, 18) for connection to said building component (3, 71).
Support member for ceiling system
The disclosure relates to support members for ceiling systems, such as those that can be formed into an interconnected grid to be suspended from a ceiling and support ceiling tiles.
Suspended ceiling hanger clip
The present invention relates to a suspended ceiling hanger clip and a suspended ceiling formed using the hanger clip. The suspended ceiling hanger clip has a longitudinally extending base having a first end and a second end and a pair of generally parallel co-extensive flanges extending downwardly from the base. At least one projection in each flange is formed with a ramp surface. An aperture is formed in the base for receiving an upper end of the elongate suspension rod therein. The suspension rod has a longitudinal axis extending along a length between spaced apart upper and lower ends, with the lower end having an attachment means. The upper end of the suspension rod extends through and is fixedly retained from removal from the aperture in the base of the hanger clip.
CEILING SYSTEM
A grid mounting system for a suspended ceiling system in one embodiment includes a support structure and a mounting bracket coupled to the support structure. An elongated first grid member is pivotably coupled to the mounting bracket about a pivot axis defined by a pivot member. The first grid member is movable about the pivot axis in a plurality of angular mounting positions. In one embodiment, the grid mounting system further includes a second grid member which may be pivotably or fixedly coupled to the mounting bracket. The support structure may be a wall or perimeter trim bracket attached to the wall in some installations.
Clip hanger and ceiling suspension system incorporating same
A hanger and a ceiling suspension system incorporating the hanger, for suspending a suspension rail from a ceiling are provided, where the suspension rail is configured to support an object. The hanger includes a first suspension member and a second suspension member positioned adjacent to one another. The first and second suspension members each have an upper portion, a lower portion, and a coupling component situated between the upper and lower portions. The upper portions are configured to be releasably suspended from the ceiling. The lower portions are configured to releasably engage the suspension rail. The coupling components are engageable to form a hinge connection between the first and second suspension members. Separation of the upper portions from one another biases the lower portions towards one another to releasably engage the suspension rail between the suspension members.
