An improved roof ridge cover. The roof ridge cover is formed to give the visual appearance of multiple shingles. The edges of the roof ridge cover wrap around existing roof shingles. The cover is stone coated to provide similar appearance to the adjacent roof shingle surfaces. Optional venting material may be used under the cover to allow air to vent from the attic thereby allowing the attic to breathe, although the vent material is sufficiently dense to prevent insects and bugs from passing through the vent material.

Roofing panels

A roofing panel has a field, an upper edge, a lower edge, a first end, and a second end. The field of the roofing panel is ornamented such as by being coated and/or embossed and/or pressed to emulate the appearance of a traditional roofing shingle. A clip extends along the forward edge of the roofing panel and projects downwardly therefrom. A slot extends along the rear edge of the roofing panel and the slot has an upwardly facing elongated opening. The slot is cut short or truncated at the first end of the roofing panel such that the second end of a like shingle can be overlapped onto the first end in such a way that the ornamentation on the field of the roofing panel prevents water migration through the region of overlap of the roofing panel and the like roofing panel. The clip is configured to be pressed down by an installer through the opening of the slot and lock within the slot to attach one course of shingles securely to a next lower course of shingles.

Novel rigid tile, rigid tile apparatus, methods of making and use are disclosed. One embodiment includes a method of mounting rigid tile with a nail gun providing a protruding nail tip used as a nail passage or depression finder in the rigid tile. Another embodiment includes a metal rooftile having at least one fastener passage having pre-formed spacer section extending from the upper surface of the metal rooftile to space a fastener head or end from the upper surface of the metal rooftile. Yet another embodiment provides a unitary ganged set of rigid rooftiles. A tile bottom-side covering sealing bent T-trim can be utilized to cover open underside areas of a right rooftile. A novel installation method and rigid rooftile installation kit can utilize embodiments of the structures and methods stated above and, as desired, yet additional structure such as differently structured rigid rooftile components and trim components of differing shapes and sizes as desired.

A first plurality of roofing shingles installed in a first plurality of rows on a roof deck, and a second plurality of roofing shingles installed in a second plurality of rows. An edge of one of the second roofing shingles in each of the second rows is offset from the edge of another one of the second roofing shingles in another adjacent one of the second rows. An edge of a first photovoltaic shingle is juxtaposed with the edge of a first roofing shingle of the second roofing shingles in a first row of the second rows. The edge of at least another photovoltaic shingle in at least one of another row of the second rows is substantially aligned with the edge of the first photovoltaic shingle. An additional roofing shingle is installed intermediate one of the second roofing shingles and one of the photovoltaic shingles.
