Transparent nanoemulsions comprising lauric oil
The invention relates to oil-in-water emulsion in which specific oils (e.g., lauric oils) are used in the oil phase while surprisingly maintaining excellent transparency. In one aspect, said emulsions comprise fatty acid in oil phase. In a separate co-pending application, the invention comprises an energy efficient process for making said fatty acid containing transparent nanoemulsions.
COSMETIC GEL COMPRISING A TRIGLYCERIDE OIL
According to the invention, a cosmetic gel is provided comprising multilamellar vesicles dispersed in an aqueous phase, wherein the multilamellar vesicles have the shape of a rotational body comprising two or more concentric lipid double layers, the cosmetic gel comprising: a) a surfactant component, comprising at least one vesicle-forming surfactant, which is a surfactant having a HLB value of greater than 6; b) an oily phase comprising a triglyceride oil; c) an aqueous phase comprising a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol;
and wherein the multilamellar vesicles have a median particle size d(50) from 50 to 800 nanometres and wherein the particle size distribution is Gaussian and the standard deviation is less than 30% of the median particle size d(50).
Nanoemulsions comprising glycerol in aqueous phase
The present invention relates to novel oil-in-water nanoemulsions. The oil phase contains oil selected from the group consisting of triglyceride oil and/or petrolatum as well as C8 to C18 fatty acid; and the aqueous phase contains specific N-acyl derivatives having specific counterions of amino acid salt as emulsifier, glycerol, and water. When (i) there is defined ratio of glycerol to water; (ii) specific counterion for amino acid surfactant and (iii) fatty acid in oil phase. Nanoemulsions are processed in a one-step process yielding droplets of size 20 to 400 nm. In one embodiment, droplets of size 20 to 400 nm can be made using rotor-stator device (in one-step process) and in the absence of pressure based homogenizer. This saves in energy and cost. Compositions prepared according to this processes are also contemplated.
HAIR CONDITIONING COMPOSITION
A hair conditioner composition comprising: a) a basic amino acid; b) a fatty acid; c) a high melting point fatty alcohol; and d) an aqueous carrier; wherein a) through d) form a lamellar gel network matrix with a L.sub.β phase.
Hair conditioning composition with antimicrobial system
A hair conditioner composition comprising: a) a fatty acid; b) a fatty alcohol; and c) an antimicrobial system comprising: i) glyceryl caprylate; and ii) one or more of 4-hydroxyacetophenone and pentylene glycol.
EMULSION COMPRISING ANTIOXIDANT PARTICLES
The present invention relates to compositions comprising particles prepared from one or more biological materials and/or animal lipids and/or plant lipids that are capable of locating to an interface when combined with two or more immiscible liquids. Emulsions comprising the compositions comprising particles, wherein the emulsion has an internal phase dispersed in a continuous external phase and the particles are located at the interface of the external and the internal phase, methods of preparing such compositions and emulsions, the use of such compositions and emulsions and products containing the compositions and emulsions are also described.
NANOCAPSULES FORMING EMULSION PARTICLES AND EMULSION COMPOSITION INCLUDING SAME
Nanocapsules that form emulsion particles and an emulsion composition including the nanocapsules are disclosed. The emulsion composition contains an aqueous phase; an oil phase; and emulsion particles surrounded by a plurality of non-amphiphilic nanocapsules located in the interface between the aqueous phase and the oil phase. The emulsion composition is capable of forming emulsion particles in an oil-in-water-type emulsion composition, without using a surfactant.
POROUS-CELLULOSE PARTICLES AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, AND COSMETIC
The porous-cellulose particles according to the present invention are constituted by gathered crystalline celluloses having a type I crystal form including a glucose molecule as a constitutional unit. That is, porous-cellulose particles having high sphericity have been achieved from a natural raw material. The porous-cellulose particles have an average particle diameter of 0.5 to less than 50 μm, a specific surface area of 50 to 1000 m.sup.2/g, and a sphericity of 0.85 or more. Cosmetic products containing such porous-cellulose particles have excellent texture properties.
NOVEL NANOEMULSIONS COMPRISING FATTY ACID AND N-ACYL DERIVATIVES OF AMINO ACID SALT
The present invention relates to novel oil-in-water nanoemulsions. The oil phase contains oil selected from the group consisting of triglyceride oil and/or petrolatum as well as C.sub.8 to C.sub.18 fatty acid; and the aqueous phase contains specific N-acyl derivatives of amino acid salt as emulsifier.
COSMETIC COMPOSITION COMPRISING ROSE EXTRACTS
The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for topical application to the skin comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium, at least an effective amount of at least one aqueous extract of rose and of at least one oily extract of rose, and the use thereof in particular for promoting the natural rhythmic process of skin cells and/or improving the micro-nutritional balance of the skin.
