A storage unit which is substantially water proof is provided. The storage unit may comprise a shell having lower edges which mate into a groove formed in a top surface of a base to provide a substantially waterproof barrier therebetween. The junction between the lower edge of the side walls and the first groove may be sealed with a water proof sealant. A front side wall of the shell may have an aperture therethrough to allow users to move items into and out of the storage unit. A door may be attached to the storage unit to prevent water from entering into the storage unit through the aperture. Moreover, a lower edge of the door body may be inserted into a second groove formed in the top surface of the base to prevent water from entering into the storage unit from under the door.

Device for Helping a Vehicle Pass Over an Obstacle
20180347202 · 2018-12-06 ·

The invention relates to a device (1) for helping a wheeled vehicle pass over an obstacle, in particular for a person with impaired mobility. It comprises: a stationary frame (2) comprising a bottom and two symmetrical parallel side walls (9, 10); a plate (3) provided with two ends, a first end being movable between a high position and a low position in which said plate constitutes an access ramp, and an assembly for driving said first end between a low position and a high position, said first end being supported by said drive assembly in both the low position and the high position. Said drive assembly comprises: a linear ram mounted under the plate (3), provided with a stationary end adjacent to said second end and rigidly connected to the bottom, and a mobile end, a carriage that is movable in horizontal translation and driven by said ram, said carriage resting on guides mounted on the bottom of the frame. Said carriage comprises two tappets, a pair of arms, the arms being symmetrical, each arm resting on one of the tappets of the carriage, each arm supporting the first end of the plate (3); in the retracted position of the actuator, the carriage is near said second end, the arms are in the low position and the first end is in the ramp position, and in the extended position of the actuator, the carriage is arm said first end, the arms are in the high position and the first end is in the high position.

Curved pathway

A curved pathway including a double helix form with no center support column includes a plurality of segments, wherein each of the segments is formed from a plurality of rods coupled to a plurality of connecting nodes. The plurality of rods are arranged in a skewed tetrahedral geometry, which causes the plurality of stair segments to form a helical structure when the plurality of segments are coupled together. The plurality of rods form a spine on an underside of the plurality of stair segments. A pathway surface is coupled to each of the segments. In alternate embodiments, the curved pathway may be formed from sheet metal creased to form a plurality of linear support locations and connecting nodes.

CURBED RAMP

A ramp system includes a rail with an outer wall that defines an extent of the ramp in a width dimension. The rail includes an inner wall that is connected to the outer wall at a curb head. The inner wall extends away from the curb head at an angle relative to the outer wall. A side wall is oriented parallel to the outer wall. A lower end of the side wall is connected to a lower end of the outer wall by a bottom wall. A shelf is connected between an upper end of the side wall and a lower end of the inner wall. The shelf extension is connected between the lower end of the inner wall and the outer wall. A deck is secured to the shelf.

Kerb Ramp

A kerb ramp is described comprising a ramp body (12), a stop member (28) depending downwardly from the ramp body (12), an upper lip (20) secured to an upper edge part (16) of the ramp body (12) that, in use, is supported upon the kerb or footpath surface, and a lower lip (22) secured to a lower edge part (18) of the ramp body (12) that, in use, is supported upon the road surface, wherein the upper and lower lips (20, 22) are of a rubber or rubber-like plastics material and extend beneath the ramp body (12) to engage, respectively, the kerb or footpath surface and the road surface, and wherein the stop member (28) is engageable, in use, with an upright wall of the kerb.

Operable ramp

An operable ramp is moveable between stowed and deployed positions. In the deployed position, the ramp provides a sloped transition surface that extends from a lower surface of an architectural setting to an upper surface of the architectural setting. The operable ramp includes a ramp panel and a housing. The height of an upper surface of the housing is selectively adjustable. The operable ramp further includes a drive assembly that is at least partially disposed within the housing. The drive assembly has a drive linkage coupled to a first end of the ramp panel to move the operable ramp between the stowed and deployed positions. The drive linkage raises the first end of the ramp panel to a first elevation when the upper surface of the housing is at a first height and to a second elevation when the upper surface of the housing is at a second height.
