PAPERBEAD FOR PROTECTING DRYWALL CORNERS
20180251984 · 2018-09-06 ·

The present invention relates to drywall paperbeads, particularly drywall paperbeads for use in protecting exposed drywall surfaces having non-planar surface contours in an edge region adjacent the drywall edges. The paperbead includes an elongated core having an inner surface and an outer surface, an elongated paper strip having an inner surface and an outer surface, a thickness of between 6 and 7 mils, a weight of between 110 and 125 grams/square meter (gsm) and a porosity of 30 to 130 Gurley sec. The inner surface of the paper strip is roughened and bonded to the outer surface of the core. The outer portion of the thickness of the paper strip is impregnated with a strengthening compound, preferably a polymer strengthening compound, more preferably a latex strengthening compound in an amount of between 3.5% and 13% of the total weight of the paper strip. The width of the paper strip is greater than the width of the core such that at least one edge of the paper strip extends laterally beyond the edge of the core to form a wing on at least one edge of the paperbead. The wing of the paper strip of the paperbead follows the non-planar surface contour of the drywall in the edge region adjacent the drywall edge.

METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF EDGE PROTECTION STRIPS OF CERAMIC MATERIAL

A flexible inside corner trim piece is formed with concave depressions at hinge portions where wings attach to the body. The trim piece can be formed such that wings and a top cap lay flat in plane perpendicular to body or wings and top cap curve at an angle. Hinge portions can be narrow or wide and symmetrical or asymmetrical. The trim piece can be dyed, paintable, or present another decorative surface. The trim piece can include embedded lighting.

Drywal corner trim material with adhesive

A re-moistenable adhesive-coated drywall corner trim piece having an elongated semi-rigid core piece with a right and left flange, where the semi-rigid core piece has a centerline along which the flanges meet forming a hinge that can be bent and re-bent to any angle any number of times. The piece can also include a step running longitudinally along each of the flanges that can be located between the centerline and the flange edges so that the flanges change from a thicker portion toward the centerline to a thinner portion toward the edges making the piece boxable (capable of being wet mudded simultaneously on both sides without an intermediate drying step). Flanges can be curved slightly inward for perfect bonding.

TAPELESS FASTENING AND FINISHING SYSTEM FOR WALLBOARD INSTALLATION
20240352749 · 2024-10-24 ·

A wallboard-fastening device secures first and second wallboards to a framing member without fasteners passing through the wallboards. The device includes first, second, and third framing panels joined along lengthwise edges to form a three-sided cup sized to fit around the framing member, first and second flat-spring flanges joined along lengthwise edges to form a front seam, and a channel-dividing panel joined lengthwise to the front seam and to the second framing panel to form first and second channels that receive the first and second wallboards. The flat-spring flanges flex to exert restoring forces on the wallboards that push the wallboards against the second framing panel. The device may be configured for edge joints, outside-corner joints, and inside-corners, and thus may be combined for any type of wallboard installation, including both parallel and perpendicular applications.

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS

A modular construction system includes a top molding member; a bottom molding member; and at least one stanchion spacing the top molding member from the bottom molding member, the stanchion being removably attached to the top and bottom molding member. Other construction systems include removable panels that are coupled with frame pieces to collectively form a stair rail system, molding systems, backsplash systems, and other building components.

Inside corner backer board molding insert
09970201 · 2018-05-15 ·

An inside corner backer board molding insert is provided. The molding insert includes a body formed by a rigid member. An arcuate portion disposed on a front side of the body extends longitudinally from an upper face to a lower face of the body. The arcuate portion defines a concave surface extending laterally from a first longitudinal edge to a second longitudinal edge. A pair of laterally extending walls extend perpendicularly relative to each other and intersect forming a corner edge disposed on a rear side of the body. The corner edge forms a right angle sized to engage an inside corner of a wall. Opposing sides of the body interconnect the arcuate portion to the laterally extending walls and include a width sized to receive a backer board flush thereagainst. A lip extending outwardly from and edge of the opposing sides provides a support surface for the backer board.

MAGNETIC CORNER GUARD

A wall trimming (also called a corner guard) is provided for protecting a corner of a wall. The corner guard is an elongated body in an L-shape having recessed portions within inner surface facing the wall. The recessed portions hold magnets configured to hold the corner guard using magnetic attraction to a magnetic material fixed inside the wall, which may be a metal corner bead or magnetic inserts, for example. The recessed portions may be dimensioned according to the dimensions of the insert magnets, such that magnets are flush with the inner surface of the corner guard. The corner guard may have three layers with the recessed portions cut out of the inner layer, a decorative pattern cut into the outer layer, and the middle layer providing a backstop to prevent the recessed portions and magnets from being visible through the decorative pattern cut into the outer layer.
