Joint compound spreading tool for drywall joint finishing
A hand tool is provided for the application of joint compound on wall board, having a planar blade affixed to an ergonomic handle. The blade has a concave arcuate working edge, wherein the concave arcuate curve extends the entire length of the working edge to each corner of the working edge. The concave arcuate working edge may be used to apply a self-feathered layer joint compound over drywall tape on planar butt joint or an inside corner joint. The blade is laterally flexible.
Automated drywall cutting and hanging system and method
An automated drywalling system for cutting and/or hanging drywall that includes one or more vision systems and a computing device executing a computational planner. The computational planner obtains target wall assembly data from the one or more vision systems, the target wall assembly data including information regarding a configuration of a target wall assembly including a plurality of studs that define a portion of the target wall assembly; and generates a plan for a configuration of a plurality of drywall pieces to be disposed on studs of the target wall assembly based on the target wall assembly data.
Automated drywall planning system and method
An automated drywalling system network that including one or more automated drywalling systems that each has a robotic arm. The automated drywalling system network can also include a computational planner that generates instructions for the one or more automated drywalling systems to perform two or more drywalling tasks associated with a target wall assembly. The two or more drywalling tasks can include a hanging task that includes hanging pieces of drywall on studs of the target wall assembly; a mudding task that includes applying joint compound to pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly; a sanding task that includes sanding joint compound applied to the pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly; and a painting task that includes painting sanded the joint compound applied to the pieces of drywall hung on studs of the target wall assembly.
A PLASTERING MACHINE, PARTICULARLY FOR APPLICATION OF THIN LAYERS OF A CEMENTITIOUS MATERIAL TO A BUILDING SURFACE, AND A MOUTHPIECE THEREFOR
The invention relates to a plastering machine (10) for applying a surface coating layer to a building surface (1), such as to a building wall (1), comprising a coating material supply (20) connected to a mouthpiece (30) via a conduit, said mouthpiece (30) having a top portion (T) and a bottom portion (B) and including a rear wall (31), a first side wall (31) and a second side wall (31) opposite said first side wall (31), said rear wall (31) being connected to or integral with said first side wall (31) and said second side wall (31) to define a coating material recess (8) for containing coating material supplied to said mouthpiece through said conduit (15), said recess (8) preferably tapering in a direction from said top portion (T) to said bottom portion (B), said rear wall (31) having a lower edge (37) at said bottom portion (B), said first and second side walls (31, 31) each having one or more faces (SF) configured for being placed against said building surface (1) when applying said coating material contained in said recess (8) to said building surface (1). The lower edge (37) is configured for being placed against said building surface (1) together with said faces (SF) in use of said machine when applying said coating material contained in said recess (8) to said building surface (1), an elongated flexible seal (300) connected to each side wall (31, 31) extending between said bottom portion (B) and said top portion (T), for being placed against said building surface (1) when applying said coating material contained in said recess (8) to said building surface (1).
Tape applicator with tape protection and method for maintaining such an applicator
An applicator of jointing tape for joining two sheets of plasterboard includes a mud chamber through which the tape is paid out. The chamber has a tape inlet slot formed between a free end of a rear wall of the chamber and a first free end of a lower wall of the chamber. The free end of the rear wall of the chamber and the first free end of the lower wall of the chamber comprise a cylinder with a cross section greater than a thickness of the wall to which each cylinder is attached, each cylinder being covered by a removable protective sleeve with an interior cross section that complements the cylinder that the sleeve covers, each protective sleeve having a longitudinal opening delimited by two immobilization edges for immobilization against the wall bearing the cylinder that the sleeve covers.
Joint tape embedding apparatus, system, and method
A joint tape embedding apparatus configured to determine the bonding and/or feel of embedding joint tape into a dry wall or wall board joint using a particular joint compound. The joint embedding apparatus is configured to allow the same user or different users to accurately repeat the determination of the bonding and/or feel attributes of the joint compound.
PERLITE-FREE, LIGHTWEIGHT SETTING-TYPE JOINT COMPOUND COMPOSITIONS
Perlite-free, lightweight setting-type joint compounds which comprise calcium sulfate hemihydrate with a dry density of less than 50 lb/ft.sup.3, a foaming agent having a HLB value of at least 10 and preferably comprising an alkylbenzene sulfonic acid having a linear alkyl chain containing 8 to 14 carbons and/or a salt thereof, and a combination of rheology modifiers. Methods for building wallboard assemblies and methods for wall patch and repair projects that include applying the perlite-free, lightweight setting-type joint compounds to a substrate.
Drywall mud applicator wheelless control tube
A drywall mud applicator wheelless control tube is provided. The drywall mud applicator wheelless control tube has a plastic component (in an embodiment) having a rubber o-ring or spring which provides pressure to a slanted cylindrical ledge protrusion which allows the control tube to slide up and down a main mud applicator tube without the need for wheels on the control tube. As a result, the wheelless control tube increases the sliding and smoothness of the control tube as it slides over the main mud applicator tube.
Control Tube Bearing Assembly
Disclosed herein is a control tube bearing assembly comprising in one example a main body having an outer surface, a longitudinal axis, a radial axis; and an actuator sleeve radially exterior of the main body longitudinally repositionable thereto. The actuator sleeve in use is grasped by a user and repositioned relative to the main body so as to actuate tape dispensing, mastic dispensing, creasing components, and/or tape cutting components or a taper as desired.
System, Apparatus and Methods for a Hand-Held Drywall Tape Applicator
A hand held combined tool for drywall taping including a drywall tape applicator attached to a smoothening blade is described. The dry wall tape applicator includes a gated protrusion for feeding a dry wall tape through a ridged slot and to be held securely in position by a user before dipping the dry wall tape in a joint compound container to coat the dry wall tape with the joint compound on both side of the dry wall tape. The user then pulls the dry wall tape through the gated protrusion and the ridged slot to obtain a uniformly dual side coated drywall tape ready to be placed on a joint and to be immediately smoothened with the smoothening blade attached to the dry wall tape applicator.
